Our team spent our Professional Development Day at Oak Hammock Marsh for a day of learning and connection! 🌿

We had the privilege of hearing from an incredible keynote speaker, Barbara Nepinak, and creating our own medicine pouches with the guidance of local artist Sweet Pea Starr. We wrapped up the day with a scenic canoe ride through the marsh and enjoyed connecting outside the workplace.

A huge thank you to Oak Hammock Marsh, Barbara Nepinak, Sweet Pea Starr, and everyone who participated in making this such a memorable day!

Food bank visits across Canada have reached an all-time high. 📊

’s newly released HungerCount 2026 report highlights the growing need for food support across the country as the cost of living continues to rise.

Harvest Manitoba’s Meaghan Erbus discusses the report and the rising number of Manitobans turning to food banks for support.

At Harvest Manitoba, we work every day to fight hunger across our province. You can help by donating or volunteering to support Manitobans facing food insecurity.

This summer, we had the opportunity to visit Peak of the Market’s farm and facilities to hear from the people who help grow food for Manitobans! 🚜

We spoke with Tim Rook, the owner of Dufferin Market Gardens and a grower for Peak of the Market, about the importance of working together to ensure food gets where it needs to go.

Getting fresh, nutritious food to communities across Manitoba takes collaboration at every step. Thank you to Peak of the Market Ltd., the growers, and the partners who share our commitment to feeding our province. 🌱

We were thrilled to welcome Manitoba Chicken Producers for a cooking demonstration at Harvest! 🍗

Clients learned how to prepare a whole raw chicken from scratch, along with a few other delicious dishes. We’re thankful for partnerships like this that give our clients opportunities to learn new cooking skills and feel more comfortable preparing meals at home.

Sharing knowledge is an important part of our work, and we appreciate Manitoba Chicken for taking the time to share their expertise with our community!

Our annual Community Food Network Conference brought together partners from across Harvest Manitoba’s network of 400+ organizations spanning the province. 🤝

Throughout the day, attendees heard from speakers who explored important topics, took part in a workshop, and heard from clients who courageously shared their personal stories and experiences, reminding us why this work matters.

Our Community Food Network is made up of passionate individuals committed to helping their neighbours. From urban centres to rural, northern and First Nations communities, these relationships are essential to getting food where it’s needed most.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, shared their knowledge and continues to make a difference in their communities.

Today, on the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, we recognize that everyone deserves access to the food and resources they need to thrive. 🤝

Our ultimate goal is a Manitoba where food banks are no longer needed. Until that day comes, Harvest Manitoba will be here to support individuals and families facing food insecurity. Together, we can work toward a future where no Manitoban goes hungry.
