The Library of the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies was founded in 2008. It resulted from the merger of the Graduate Institute of International Studies (HEI), established in 1927, and the Graduate Institute of Development Studies (IUED), established in 1961. After its move to the Maison de la Paix in 2013, the Library was renamed as the Kathryn and Shelby Cullom Davis Library. Located close to Geneva’s international organisations, The Kathryn and Shelby Cullom Davis Library is specialised in the field of international relations and development studies. The Library offers valuable collections which reflect the disciplines taught at the Institute. These include anthropology, sociology, economics, development, political science, history, law, international relations, and many different research subjects.

SNSF Grantee? Anticipation is key!

Something that makes our colleague Catherine Brendow cringe as an open access publication librarian: researchers contacting her because their SNF-funded article has just been published behind a paywall and asking me "What can I do now?" Unfortunately, we don't have a magic wand. If you plan ahead (and sometimes opt for an alternative journal), the process will be much smoother....
