Our campaign to is featured in today's Sunday Times! Thank you to everyone who made this happen and to those who came along earlier this month for the photos on the Fields.

Spanning eight pages, you can read the article in the physical paper today, or on the digital subscription version. There's a flash sale of £1 for 3 months currently (but remember to cancel it if you don't want to continue at a higher rate 😏).

The piece tells the story brilliantly: from the generous £500,000 interest-free loan to buy the fields, and how the town has rallied to pay it back.

We're well on the way, but the clock is ticking. The loan needs repaying by next September, and every square sponsored is protected for good.

Here's a reminder of some of our current fundraising activities and how you can help:

👉 Sponsor a square: berkhamstedcastle.org.uk/castlefields
🔨 Don't miss The Berkhamsted Ball & Auction of Promises on 31 October.
🚶 And cheer on Nick Heath as he walks William the Conqueror's 360-mile route from Hastings to Westminster via Berkhamsted, starting 2 November.

Please share, and let's finish the job together. One square at a time! 💚

Huge thanks in advance to Nick Heath who will be embarking on an epic 360 mile fundraising walk from the 2nd November in aid of Save Castle Fields.

Nick will be re-tracing the steps of William the Conqueror in 1066 on his campaign trail from landing in Pevensey Bay, through the Battle of Hastings, onward via Berkhamsted, and finally to Westminster Abbey for his coronation.

Keep track of Nick’s progress, and sponsor him if you can, via his fascinating blog at https://letjog.co.uk/blog/
