Essential work along the M5.
Part of this work, we’ll be completing some general maintenance including drainage, sweeping, grass cutting, litter clearance as well as patching and barrier repairs.

This work will be carried out under the following phases:

Monday 1 to Wednesday 3 June 2026, 10pm to 6am – We’ll install a full closure of the M5 southbound between junction 3 and junction 4. Access to Frankley service station will be closed from 8pm, egress from the service station will be maintained until 10pm.

Thursday 4 to Friday 5 June 2026, 10pm to 6am – We’ll install a full closure of the M5 southbound between junction 4 and junction 4a.

Monday 8 to Friday 12 June 2026, 10pm to 6am – We’ll install a full closure of the M5 northbound between junction 4a and junction 3. Access to Frankley service station will be closed from 8pm, egress from the service station will be maintained until 10pm.

Please note that entry to Frankley service station will be closed from 8pm. Access to exit the service station will be maintained until 10pm.

During closures, fully signed diversion routes will be in place, as follows:

Some good news for all the drivers out there 🚗🙌
We have been complaining about the road surface on Shenley Lane for over a month now, and finally we have some positive news it looks like the road is going to be resurfaced. 🥳
It will mean a few nights of road closures and some disruption 🚧🌙, but hopefully it will be worth it in the long run, IF all the damaged areas are properly resurfaced 👍
