We want to treat women as whole addressing all the social harms they face rather than focusing on single issues, and building on their strengths and capabilities. We want to improve the services locally for women, reduce the lack of power experienced by women who are facing severe and multiple disadvantages and reduce inequalities, discrimination and exclusion.

Celebrating the women who shaped our community!

We were delighted that our CEO Avril Robinson was in attendance at the opening of ChichestHER: Celebrating the Lives and Legacies of Women in Chichester District, pictured alongside artist Kate Viner above.

Now open at The Novium Museum, ChichestHER celebrates the lives, achievements and legacies of remarkable local women, highlighting their contributions across areas including education, art, medicine, sport and the fight for women’s rights.

From pioneering campaigners to inspiring artists and community leaders, the exhibition brings into focus stories that deserve to be heard, recognised and celebrated.

Visit the exhibition at The Novium Museum from 17 October 2026 to 17 April 2027

Menopause Awareness Month

At My Sisters’ House Women’s Centre, we believe every woman deserves to feel heard, understood and supported through every stage of life.

Menopause can affect women in different ways, including their wellbeing and working lives. That’s why awareness, understanding and support matter.

Employers can make a real difference by listening without judgement, having open conversations, offering flexibility and making reasonable adjustments to help women feel comfortable and supported at work.

Let’s break the stigma, start the conversation and create workplaces where women feel valued, respected and empowered.

Your Community Cares

Calling all practised and budding knitters, crocheters and crafters from across the county!

We need you to help - Your Community Cares to create white woollen hearts over the next couple of weeks - these will be handed out by community rail volunteers this November as a simple reminder to rail passengers and staff that their community cares about them.

The hearts you make can be any stitch, style or design but should be between 4cm and 10cm in size, they can be flat or stuffed, embellished or plain, the only requirement is that they are made using white wool, felt or fabric.

Whether you craft on your own, as a half term project with the kids or as part of an interest group, we would love you to get involved in this community project.

To help you get started, we have included a selection of knitting, crochet and felt patterns, there are plenty of helpful videos online to get you started too.

Completed hearts can be dropped off at any West Sussex library between now and 31 October.

Happy crafting!

This , we want women in our community to know that support is available, and you don’t have to face things alone.

At My Sisters’ House Women’s Centre, we provide free, compassionate and non-judgemental support to women across Arun and Chichester, including practical help when money is tight and accessing everyday essentials becomes difficult.

We can help you to:

Access foodbank vouchers.

Arrange referrals to our partner organisations including for children's clothing and for drop-in food collections.

Access free toiletries, sexual health kits and period products from our Bognor Regis or Chichester offices.
