Rowan was feeling isolated in toddler groups.

They were struggling with their child being overstimulated and lacking a feeling of community.

They stepped into our private woodland and joined a regular Wyld Thyngz session.

Now her child begs to go back to “muddy school” and she has a new-found network of like-minded parents.

Rowan felt valued, in a calming and grounding environment.

If you're trying to raise resilient, confident and nature-loving children, you probably think you need structured academic courses and weekly family hikes.

But children learn better doing self-paced play in an unstructured environment with no specific goal.
The real issue is having the right place to let them explore at their own pace safely.

Which means instead of taking them up the nearest mountain, focus on what is easily achievable: spending time in the woods, joining a welcoming community under the trees and letting them roam free.

This week at Forest School, we learned an important lesson about what we can discover when we slow down, look carefully, and keep an open mind.

Together, we noticed things that could so easily have been missed — tiny details, unexpected treasures, and moments of wonder hidden in plain sight. By taking the time to stop, observe, describe, and wonder alongside the children, we were reminded of how exciting and fascinating the natural world can be.

Their curiosity, enthusiasm, and thoughtful observations sparked wonderful conversations and helped us all see our surroundings through fresh eyes. Sometimes the greatest discoveries happen when we simply pause and pay attention. 🌿🍂🔍
