David Upton attended Chiswick Grammar School from 1961 to 1969. The School Alumni are looking for (or would like to contact) a former pupil Julie Underwood (née Sage) who moved from Brentford to Camberley after leaving Nottingham University, circa 1976 and was a keen water skier in the Camberley area. Does anyone remember Julie. If so, can you please contact David Upton ([email protected]) or the alumni secretary at [email protected].

Wonderful email today from Sam Williams, Founder of https://sameacres.com/ - it was an honour to have been recognised and we will wear our badge with pride!

Hi Surrey Heath Museum team,

I am reaching out as the parent of a neurodivergent child and founder of SameAcres, a free platform helping families find local spaces where our children are welcomed and supported.

I am pleased to share that Surrey Heath Museum is featured on SameAcres as a recognised Sensory-Friendly Location for A calmer indoor day out — plenty of space and easy to leave early if you need to. in Camberley.

SameAcres highlights venues offering provisions such as calm indoor space, which help create calm, inclusive, and accessible environments. Finding spaces where our children feel safe makes a significant difference to families across the country, so thank you for the work you do.

You should be really proud of this achievement.

Last Thursday we held our Private View for our new exhibition, 9 to 5: The Industrial Heritage of Surrey Heath.

It was wonderful to welcome so many people and celebrate and celebrate the opening exploring the industries, businesses and people that have shaped the history of Surrey Heath.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended and made the evening so special. We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to the Surrey Industrial History Group for their generous grant, which helped make this exhibition possible.

We hope you will come along and discover more about Surrey Heath’s fascinating industrial heritage.
