Our output is distributed around the hospital via wifi radios and can also be heard on-line via our website. Everyone involved is a volunteer.

Chippenham Hospital Radio aim's to provide a quality radio service which entertains and informs patients by enhancing their stay in hospital through the provision of request based programmes and local information. Our output around the hospital is heard by over 2,500 local people a month, made up of those on the wards, those who use the hospitals outpatient services and staff. Formed in 1982, the radio station went on-air in 1983 and became a registered charity in 1985. Members receive a comprehensive training programme before broadcasting, contributing to the high quality of the service. Chippenham Hospital Radio output is primarily based on Adult-orientated pop music (classics & current) and talk. Rap, heavy metal, heavy rock and some dance music is not part of the stations output. The service is widely recognised by healthcare professionals to contribute to the care package provided by hospitals, providing a comfort to those who are in hospital. Could you benefit from some extra support with the cost of food this Christmas?

Chippenham Borough Lands Charity’s Christmas Voucher Scheme opens at 9am on Monday 2nd November 2026, offering supermarket vouchers of £75-£175 to eligible households.

To apply, you must live within Chippenham Parish and be receiving means-tested benefits and/or meet the scheme’s low-income criteria.
Applications are due to close at 12pm on Friday 13th November, but the scheme may close earlier if the available funds are fully allocated. Last year, the scheme closed early due to the volume of applications, so eligible households are encouraged to apply as soon as applications open.

TRAFFIC ALERT

A large Royal Mail articulated lorry has overturned on the A350 at the Malmesbury roundabout, north of Chippenham.

The road is currently impassable and is likely to remain closed while the incident is dealt with and the vehicle is recovered.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.
