https://gofund.me/b1a8b54e9 We understand that life after service can bring its own challenges, and asking for help isn’t always easy. That’s why our approach is different: no waiting lists, no judgement, no complicated systems - just real people who get it. Sessions are subsidised through Rak & Cat Wellbeing, meaning your community has already helped make this support possible. You’ve spent your life serving others, now it’s time for someone to serve and support you. How we help:

💬 1:1 Wellbeing & Coaching Support - tailored sessions addressing stress, anxiety, trauma, and confidence.

💆🏻‍♀️ Holistic Therapies - massage, reiki, relaxation and nervous system reset work.

🛠️ Practical Guidance - tools and techniques to manage triggers, improve sleep, build resilience and restore motivation. All sessions are designed to be practical, private and content-free. You don’t have to relive the past to move forward.

↑❤️‍🔥 SOME NIGHTS ARE ABOUT THE MUSIC. THIS ONE IS ABOUT SO MUCH MORE ↑❤️‍🔥

On Friday 4th December, we’re bringing you UPSTATE’S BIG CHARITY CHRISTMAS PARTY at Steel Brew, Plymouth.

As we aim for a superb night of great live music, supported and enjoyed by a room full of brilliant people.

Underneath all of that, there’s a reason this night matters.

We’re doing it for the people who have served, the people who still carry the weight of what they’ve experienced, and the families who carry that weight alongside them.

PTSD doesn’t always show, it doesn’t always announce itself. Sometimes, the people who need help the most are the very people who find it hardest to ask.

That’s why we’re supporting PTSD Resolution — a charity providing counselling to veterans, reservists and their families, helping people work through trauma and find a way forward.

These are people who have given so much and more, that they deserve support when they need it, not silence when they struggle.

And here’s where YOU come in. 👇

Your ticket isn’t just entry to a gig, it’s your chance to be part of something that matters.

Every ticket sold helps us raise funds and awareness for a cause that deserves both. Come along, bring your friends and family, enjoy the music, enjoy a night of good company with a common purpose and help us turn one brilliant night into something that reaches beyond the dancefloor.

If you can’t make it, then sharing this post could help it reach someone who can.

We’re a covers band. We’re here because we love music, we love bringing people together, and we believe a night out can mean something more.

On 4th December, let’s fill Steel Brew for all the right reasons ❤️

🇬🇧 FROM SERVICE TO PURPOSE: MEET GARY WILSON 🇬🇧

Some people leave the Armed Forces and move into the corporate world. Others take the values, experience and lessons learned in uniform and use them to change the corporate world for the better.

Gary Wilson is one of those people.

Based in Sheffield, Gary served for 22 years in the British Army’s Royal Military Police before making the transition into civilian life and the corporate sector.

But it seems his commitment to service didn’t end when he took off his uniform.

Today, through his work with RS, Gary is helping drive a real shift in how businesses recognise, recruit and support the Armed Forces community.

From championing opportunities for service leavers and veterans to strengthening the relationship between business and the Armed Forces Covenant, he is helping demonstrate what meaningful corporate responsibility should look like.

And his commitment doesn’t stop there.

As a Mental Health First Aid England instructor, Gary is also helping build a workplace culture where mental health matters. His recent work at RS has already helped establish 14 newly qualified Mental Health First Aiders, creating more opportunities for colleagues to support one another.

RS has also achieved the Gold Award under the Armed Forces Covenant Employer Recognition Scheme, reflecting its growing commitment to veterans, reservists, serving personnel and military families.

We were delighted when Gary popped in to see us earlier in the week. It was a pleasure to meet someone who understands that supporting the Armed Forces community must go beyond signing a covenant or displaying a badge.

It is about action. It is about opportunity. It is about understanding the challenges of leaving military service and recognising the enormous contribution veterans can make in civilian life.

At The Veterans Cottage, we believe businesses have an important role to play in creating better futures for our Armed Forces community.

People like Gary are helping make that happen.

Thank you, Gary, for the work you’re doing and for helping bring the corporate world and the Armed Forces community closer together.

Once service, always service. 🇬🇧

🇬🇧 ARMISTICE DAY – WEDNESDAY 11 NOVEMBER 🇬🇧

Everyone is welcome at The Veterans Cottage.

This Armistice Day, we invite our local community to join us for a poignant moment of remembrance as we honour those who served, those who never returned, and all those affected by conflict.

📯 the lovely Lynnette Ballantyne will be playing the Last Post, and Pastor Tom, from Oakham Baptist Church, will lead a short service of remembrance.

🕙 Join us from 10:00 am for a cuppa, with our two-minute silence at 11:00 am.

📍 Live or work in Corby Old Village? If you can, please take just 10 minutes out of your working day and pop down to stand with us. Whether you’re a veteran, a local resident, work nearby or simply wish to pay your respects, you will be warmly welcomed.

Sometimes, taking a moment to pause together is all that is needed to remember the sacrifices made for our freedom.

We would love to see you there.

Lest We Forget. ❤️🇬🇧

What a tremendous meeting! ❤️

We had a fantastic and very productive meeting with representatives from NNC, WNC and the High Sheriff of Northamptonshire, Roger Butler.

It was a pleasure to meet Den Palmer from The Chapel Gym, hear about his charity work, and learn more about his incredible career as a world champion fighter.

We are so grateful for the support we have received from our local council. Since their involvement, things have moved forward quickly for The Veterans Cottage, and we are excited about what the future holds for our veterans, serving personnel and their families.

We would also like to say a huge thank you to Sinead from All That Platters for the beautiful sandwich platter. It was a lovely addition to our meeting, and we look forward to working with her in the future.

A big thank you to everyone involved — Chris, Jan, Martin, Charlie, Vinnie, Maurice, Michael, Roger and Chris C. Your support really does make a difference.

❤️ Now, we want to bring our wider community along on this journey!

The Veterans Cottage is about people coming together to make a real difference to the lives of our veterans, serving personnel and their families. Whether you are a local business, community group, organisation or an individual who wants to help, we would love to hear from you.

If you can offer support, share your skills, explore a partnership, volunteer your time or simply help spread the word about what we do, please get in touch. Every connection, every act of kindness and every offer of support can help us move forward.

Together, we can build something truly special for our Armed Forces community. Please share this post and help us reach others who may want to be part of our journey.

Here’s to the future! ❤️🇬🇧
