We had our annual Halloween Party yesterday, and what a blast it was!! 🐈‍⬛🎃

Everyone was dressed up, enjoying Halloween crafts and a spooky lunch!

Champion of the Month – Sarah! 🩷🏆

A huge well done to Sarah, who has received some amazing feedback from a lady she supports! 🌟

With Sarah’s encouragement to try the power-assisted gym at Askern, the lady has made fantastic progress and has now been discharged from orthotics, no longer needing specialist equipment or custom-made shoes!

“A special thank you to Sarah for telling me about it in the first place, as it really has made a huge difference to me.”

We’re so proud of Sarah for going above and beyond and helping someone make such a positive change to their life.

Carers often pour from an empty cup, giving so much of themselves to the person they are supporting, leaving not enough for themselves. We are here to change that.
Offering a reliable, safe, friendly face to look after their loved ones, giving them time to rest, recharge and have some time to put themselves first. 🩷

The clocks have now gone back! If you have a loved one, neighbour or friend that might need a reminder or help changing their clocks, please reach out and do so! 🩷

We love any excuse to celebrate here at the Day Centre! Birthdays are our favourite!!

Some of our guests live alone or have no family close by, so we make a BIG deal out of birthdays! Decorations, cake & a party! The fun never stops here at Inspire 🩷

The clocks are going back this weekend! ⌚🩷

As the clocks go back and the evenings get darker, it’s worth remembering that changes to routine can be unsettling for some older people and those living with dementia.

If you have a loved one, neighbour or friend that may need assistance changing the time on their clocks this weekend, please reach out and help. It may seem like a small task to us, but for some it is difficult.

With the days getting shorter, it's so important to make the most of the day! Our befrienders will be wrapping up warm and getting out and about with their clients, enjoying the sunshine, we encourage you to do the same! 🌞

For people with dementia, having pain they cannot explain can show as aggression and confusion ☹️🩷

Caring for someone living with dementia means looking after all the little things that make a big difference. One important part of daily care that can sometimes be overlooked is brushing teeth and cleaning dentures.

Look out for sore gums, mouth discomfort, or changes in eating habits. Good oral hygiene helps keep mouths healthy and reduces discomfort.

We know caring for a loved one can be challenging, and there is so much to remember. Please be kind to yourself, too ❤️
