This Sunday is the October meeting of the Cornwall Black Dog Walking Club.

Meet at 0930hrs in the Luna car park (formerly the Rockpool Bar).

Walk. Talk.

Or just bimble...no talking, the choice is yours.

The club is free and open to all.

The final poppies have been added to the Hayle 9/11 Ribbon of Poppies display.

A mark of respect to those lost after the attacks and those still battling the black dog.

The Veterans Charity, Ribbon of Poppies team have allowed us to reveal the 3 "black dog" additions to the Hayle 9/11 poppy display.

We are proud to introduce:

Apollo - GSD

Willow - Labrador

And

Morgan.- Spaniel

Each dog will represent a 100 search dogs used post 9/11.

The team will share their stories over thos coming week.

Change of venue

The Black Dog Walking Club will meet tomorrow morning in Hayle.

As members of the club helpedcl The Veterans Charity last month prepare some of the Ribbon of Poppies for the 9/11 display we thought we should walk the walk (King George V Memorial Walk) and see the display!

We will meet in the Swimming Pool car park (there is also free on street parking) at 9 30am.

Note - ponies welcome.

Truro City F.C. have been showing their support for the Orange 🟠 Button (Badge) Community Scheme.

If you spot someone wearing an Orange 🟠 Badge, this means you can approach them if you are in a dark place to seek support.

The last Black Dog Walking Club meet we supported our parents organisation The Veterans Charity with the Hayle 9/11 Ribbon of Poppies art installation.

The display supported by Hayle Town Council will be on the King George V Memorial Walk until the end of September.

A reminder that there is a talk on Rick Rescorla this evening in Hayle.

TONIGHT

6.30pm (for a 7pm start)

The Masonic Lodge, Hayle, TR27 4AE.

As part of the 25th anniversary commemorations of the loss of local hero Rick Rescorla, local resident Trevor Smitheram is holding a talk on Ricks life from his birth in 1939 through to the events of 9/11.

Tickets £5 on the door.

The Guys In Cornwall team are hosting a number of events, next up is a Supper Club this Thursday at The Secret Quay Kitchen in Hayle - who host the Hayle Armed Forces and Veterans Breakfast Club in winter months.
