Please take the time to sign and help CPRE. They already have over 11,000 signatures.

Data centres are arriving faster than the rules that govern them, and some of the largest proposals are landing in the countryside. But there's still time to act – we're calling for a pause on data centres until the government comes up with a clear plan for them.

We want:

A brownfield-first policy to protect green fields and farmland
Dedicated planning rules, so that the environmental and landscape impacts are properly assessed, and communities are listened to
Better data centre design to minimise the scale of development and so that energy and water are used more wisely
A commitment to protect our climate targets.
Together we can stop unchecked data centre development. Thousands of people have added their name and want to take action on data centres. Our next step is to develop a strong campaign that really makes a difference. We'll keep you updated every step of the way.
