🕸️What's brewing at the Hill House?

This Halloween we are making a bubbling broth, but we need your help to find all the ingredients! Can you follow the mysterious map and see what spooky surprises await? 🧙‍♀️

Our Halloween trail is available all day, every day from now until 31st October. No need to book in advance, just ask one of our lovely staff on arrival 🕷️

Due to adverse weather, our car park, gardens and the Box walkways will be closed 24-25 October.

Find out more about the latest plans for The Hill House ✨

The National Trust for Scotland is holding a public planning presentation in Helensburgh on Thursday 15 October as we develop proposals for The Hill House as part of Mackintosh Illuminated, made possible with support from The National Lottery Heritage Fund.

The plans include the conservation and repair of The Hill House, proposals for the garden and a new Visitor Centre.

Come along to view the proposals, meet members of the project and design teams, ask questions and provide feedback on the plans ahead of a future planning application.

Did you know that we sell Chrystal's shortbread in the Hill House shop? 😍

A family business based near Loch Lomond and running since 2007, Chrystal's prides themselves on making the best quality shortbread, free from additives or preservatives, based on a family recipe passed down through generations.

The 'ber months have arrived: leaves are falling, a crisp chill is in the air, and it's the perfect time for a brisk walk around the garden to admire the changing colours, followed by a trip to the café for some comforting hot drinks. 🍂☕

Our chai latte is the perfect choice to evoke those cosy, autumnal vibes. ✨🍂

Today is National Teddy Bear Day! ✨🐻

The teddy bear was first created in 1902, just two years before the completion of Hill House. The name was inspired by President Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt, who once refused to shoot a tethered bear while out on a hunting trip.

We thought this was the perfect excuse to share a picture of our teddy bear, currently resides in the sisters bedroom of the Hill House. Our bear, like so many others throughout history, has clearly been very loved throughout his life! 🐻
