🚀 Discovery Day is Tomorrow! 🚀

Join us on Saturday 30th May from 10am–1pm at our Somers Road site for a fun-filled family day and the big reveal of our Adventure Playground and SEND Toy Library! 🌳🛝✨ Massive thanks to .e17.furniture for sponsoring our event.

We did a little test run at today's play session and the feedback was incredible — so much so that Helen, our CEO, nearly cried! 😂 It has truly been a labour of love, and we can't wait for you to see it.

As well as exploring the Adventure Playground, there will be plenty of fun to enjoy:

Everyone is welcome — there's no need to be a Toy Library member to attend. Of course, we hope you'll love what you see and want to join our wonderful Toy Library community afterwards! 💛

This is also a fundraising event for the Toy Library, so every ticket purchased, raffle entry and stall visit helps us continue supporting local children and families. 💛

🚗 There will be no parking available in the car park tomorrow.
If you're driving, please use the Sainsbury's car park or 17&Central and walk over.

Our play session theme this week is… 🌼 Garden Party 🌼

It’s absolutely scorchio here, so we’ve been doing lots to keep the Toy Library nice and cool for everyone! ☀️

The Walthamstow building stays lovely and cool anyway (although that can be a bit of a challenge in the winter! 😄), and there’s plenty of shade in the garden too.

At Leytonstone, we’ve put up a gazebo in the outdoor play area and added fabric over the windows to help keep temperatures down.

And of course, there's LOTS of water play to help everyone stay cool and have fun 💦 Don't forget during the holidays older siblings are very welcome to come along too.

Note there will be NO Friday afternoon session in E17 this week - so we can set up for the Discovery Day on Saturday 30th May, 10 - 1pm.

Sessions cost £5.50 for the first child and £2.50 for additional children. For families on low income, sessions cost £1 for the first child and 50p for additional children.
Membership fees apply - £15 for the year or FREE for low income families, Ofsted registered childminders and foster carers.

All play sessions are run by trained early years staff, who plan and design activities to support our ethos of learning through play. No need to book or even be on time! Just drop in for a play, a snack and circle time, which involves music, movement and a story.

You can expect lots of cool water play this week, so come prepared for splashing fun.💦 During the holidays, older siblings are very welcome too. We’ll have puzzles, games, and some construction favourites including MAGNA-TILES Brand Magnetic Building Sets and LEGO for everyone to enjoy. We can’t wait to see you at the Toy Library! 💛

Last week Helen and Alyshia had the pleasure of meeting with the wonderful Max Parillon from .

Over the past six months, Valued Green has been supporting the Toy Library with donations of essential baby products and toiletries, helping us provide practical support to families most in need. They have also funded refreshments for our sessions — something that makes a real difference. As you know, at the Toy Library, every parent receives a hot drink and every child a healthy snack.

Their support has also helped us run our weekly cooking sessions, where families learn how to create nutritious meals on a budget.

Thank you so much to Max and everyone at Valued Green for your generosity and community spirit. We truly appreciate your support and we know our families do too.

We’re excited to hear that Max is currently setting up a food bank in Leyton — a fantastic initiative that will make a real impact locally. Please support him if you can.

As a member, you’ll have access to our free community cupboard, filled with high-quality clothes and baby equipment galore—perfect for getting prepared without the extra cost.

You can also borrow from our range of free parenting books for as long as you need, explore toys suitable from birth and when baby is here, enjoy our calm sensory play room—ideal for some much-needed relaxation.

At our Walthamstow site, we also host a variety of brilliant classes from , and baby massage classes, helping you connect with others from the very beginning.

Membership cost £15 for the year or is FREE if you are on benefits or have no recourse to public funds.
