Around the world, climate change is driving .
Already, an estimated 20 million people are displaced due to extreme weather events such as heavy rainfall, typhoons and droughts. As the climate crisis intensifies, this number is at risk of growing.
Despite this, our report finds that homelessness is absent from global development agendas.
That's why we're calling for homelessness to be integrated into strategies.
Doing so would advance climate justice in practice, save lives, prevent displacement, reduce economic losses, and strengthen resilience.

Embedding into gender-based violence and prevention response efforts is vital to effectively addressing homelessness.
Gender-based violence is among the leading causes of homelessness for women globally, and, once experiencing homelessness, exposure to gender-based violence increases.
To strengthen prevention and response efforts to gender-based violence, there should be investment in safe housing and access to justice for survivors experiencing homelessness.

In Ukraine, Depaul Ukraine (Деполь Україна) supports those impacted by the trauma of war.
Unprocessed trauma places people at greater risk of becoming homeless, due to heightened likelihood of family breakdown.
At Depaul Ukraine's children's centres, caregivers, who are primarily women, can take part in psychosocial support sessions.
These sessions help people to process trauma, heal bonds within families, and improve their wellbeing.
This is just one way Depaul Ukraine are supporting women at their services.
