Charity SCA is committed to strengthening and empowering the groups that we work with to play a fuller role in our community.

Southall Community Alliance (SCA) was established as an independent charitable organisation in 2000 to work with residents and community groups in the Southall area. We have a long history of responding to the needs of local voluntary sector organisations and currently run a Community Resource Centre, which provides support services to many local groups.

Chana Family, Gunnersaurus and The Emirates !

it may sound like a complicated story but at our recent Southall Community Awards Evening, we had a community auction to raise funds for Nepalese disaster relief and one of prizes was some tickets to an Arsenal women’s football game at the Emirates Stadium.

Sunny Chana was the lucky winner and as a committed Arsenal fan he enjoyed a great visit to the stadium.

This particular prize was provided through Anjuna Kalsi, who was also present and seems to have enjoyed the company of Gunnersaurus, the mascot of Arsenal FC !

Urban Garden Community Day - 17/10/26

Southall Community Alliance arranged another successful community day working at our urban garden. A cold start to the morning soon turned into a very pleasant working day and the group managed to do some really important infrastructure work that should help us in the future.

The growing season is almost coming to an end, but there were still some eye-catching crops on site.

Many thanks to Ashok Chumber for leading the way, along with Natalie from the office and the superb Good Gym volunteers

Women Empowered and Knitting Sessons

The very versatile members of the Women Empowered group continue to make waves. They have been making knitted items that can be used to help others and so well done to Preet Bains for taking this initiative.

Local history at North Primary - 5/10/26

We had another successful school visit on 5th October to North Primary School. As you can see, the children were very enthusiastic and questioning about Southall in the 1970s and 80s and we hope this continues to build an inquisitive mindset about our area.

Human Rights workshop

Southall Community Alliance is involved a human rights project and network. Our work in Southall is based on working around violations of human rights and our team of Mariam and Mehak often have to attend workshop with our funders and partners..

Mahila Sabha - keeping active

The Mahila Sabha women’s Group have had a very busy few months arranging visits and activities for their mainly older member members. There are a few pictures of how they have been active. Well done to Sarabjit Bhachu and team for all their efforts..

Khalsa Primary visit Town Hall - 9/10/26

Khalsa Primary School visited us on 9th October for a history talk and really enjoyed the occasion. We talked about Blair Peach, Gurdip Singh Chaggar and had a nice art activity at the close.

Heartlink AGM - 1/10/26

The wonderful Heartlink team celebrated their AGM on 1st October at West Middx Golf Club. Heartlink work to raise awareness of reducing heart disease and their volunteers are very active in this cause.

History talk at Blair Peach Primary - 1/10/26

Southall Community Alliance continues to work with schools and talk about local history and anti-racism. We visited Blair Peach Primary on 1st October and had a great talk with the pupils.

Purple Allstars and health messages - 30/9/26

This is a picture of the Purple Allstars, a dance group who share messages about health. They performed at the Apna health conference and were amazing. One of the performances was about brushing your teeth, with the aid of the giant toothpaste tube pictured !
