Community day at Western Road - 30/5/26
Our May community day activity at our urban garden took place in glorious sunshine and was amazingly productive. We decided to focus upon planting and achieved a lot of our targets, both inside our Polytunnel and outside on raised beds.
Well done to all our volunteers and the hard-working Good Gym team led by Kash.
We aim to grow and then share the produce locally to tackle food hunger.

Healthy cooking classes at Dormers Wells - 20/526
SCA is committed to improving the health of our communities. We know that certain health conditions disproportionately affect residents in Southall and we support activities which raise awareness and build capacity to respond to these health challenges.
We have recently helped to arrange some healthy cooking classes in the Dormers Wells area and some have incorporated the use of slow cookers to save energy whilst cooking.

Community forum and data centres - 28/5/26
Our May community forum meeting had a fascinating presentation about data centres and their local impacts. Owen Espley from GAP shared valuable information about data centres and how they have worrying local impacts on water and energy consumption.
The meeting also had a short presentation by Inspector Leigh Ballard about local policing measures.
Community forum meetings continue to provide an opportunity for local residents and groups to engage on the issues affecting our communities.

Community picnic at Southall Park - 26/5/26
As part of the Caretakers Cottage project Marta from SCA and colleagues from MIND arranged a picnic for families at Southall Park on 26th May. The very sunny conditions meant the families arranged their picnic under the welcome shade of some trees and the picnic was enjoyed by all.
Well done to Marta for all her work in making this outdoor event possible.
