Police Scotland Youth Volunteers (PSYV)

Stirling and Alloa PSYV have been working hard to support local events in the Forth Valley area.

Duties have included:
- Face painting
- Biscuit making
- Badge making
- Photo booth
- Bubble blowing
- Animal herding
- Gazebo rescue (windy day)
- Fancy dress
- Queue management

The YVs have worked very hard to make this all happen and feedback from the organisers and participants has been really positive.

The A9 has reopened southbound between the A820 and Keir Roundabout following a two-vehicle crash, involving HGVs, which happened around 4.20am on Wednesday, 17 June.

Both drivers were taken to hospital.

Enquiries are ongoing.

A 48-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a bogus workman incident in Clackmannanshire.

On Monday, 15 June, 2026 officers received a report that a 79-year-old man was potentially the victim of a £100,000 scam.

Following enquiries a man was arrested on Tuesday, 16 June, 2026, in a village within the county.

A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal, and he is expected to appear at court at a later date.

Chief Inspector Garry Smith, Local Area Commander said: “Targeting elderly people in the safety of their homes is despicable.

“We are asking residents, particularly older members of our community, to remain vigilant against bogus workmen over the summer months, offering or carrying out gardening work, building or roofing repairs.

“These individuals often prey on trust and vulnerability, using deception to gain access to properties or persuade victims to hand over large amounts of money for unnecessary or substandard work.

“I would ask anyone who is approached by unsolicited traders to verify their identity, seek advice from family, friends or neighbours before agreeing to any work. If you are suspicious, please report it to Police Scotland on 101.

“Together we can help protect our communities and ensure those responsible are brought to justice.”

What is a phishing scam?

This is when criminals attempt to steal your personal information through texts, emails and phone calls.

They’ll try and get you to click on a link, often impersonating legitimate companies.

If you get an email or text from someone you don’t know that contains a link, remember to stop and think. This could be a scam.

If you get phone call out of the blue claiming to be a company, hang up and call that company back on a number you know to be true.

In the run up to the summer months, Stirling Community Officers and School Based Officers are delivering preventative inputs around the dangers and legalities around the use of E-scooters and E-bikes. Parents will also receive communication via schools in the coming weeks.

Officers have also been educating and warning those found illegally riding and will not hesitate to charge young riders and their parents with relevant offences if offending continues.

On 17th June, 2026, one individual and their parent were charged after continued use of an E-scooter in the Stirling area.

A small brown Jack Russell was handed into Champions Vet in Bo'ness having been found in the Keniell House area of Bo'ness. She doesn't have a microchip.
