Acton Parish Council has been awarded £40,000 towards its Lime Tree Green play area project!

A huge thank you to the kids at Acton Primary School and the 200 people who completed our online survey, as well as a huge shout out to Babergh District Council for awarding the grant!

The project will replace older play equipment with modern equipment, introduce inclusive play equipment to help more children enjoy the play area, and provide a new path leading to the enclosed play area, making access easier for families.

This funding is a fantastic step towards creating a more welcoming, accessible and enjoyable space for children and families in our community.

Work is expected to begin in the new year and should be completed in time for spring!

A reminder to residents that dogs must be kept on leads on Lime Tree Green and that no dogs are allowed withing the fenced play area.

Thank you for your co-operation.

A polite reminder that it is completely unacceptable to a) allow your dog to foul in the play area, and b) even more unacceptable not to clean it up.

Fortunately, it has been spotted by the Parish Clerk just before school pick up, who was there early to top up the free poo-bag dispenser.

Resurfacing work to the footpath that runs from the Crown up to the churchyard (PRoW2) is now complete and is reopen. As you can see, the surface has been evened out and the foliage cut back. This will allow for safer access from High Street/Meflord Road to the church.
