The annual Rotary Shoebox Appeal is well underway in Verwood! Local schools and churches are busy filling their specially provided boxes ready This great initiative sends gift filled shoeboxes to disadvantaged children in Eastern Europe to bring them joy at Christmas. Last year an amazing 18,000 boxes were sent from Rotary clubs across the Wessex District. Thank you to all taking part! Thanks too to Verwood House Care Home (a corporate member of our club) who are happy for boxes to be dropped off directly by Friday 6th November, ready for club members to pack up for delivering before Christmas.

Club members are delighted to announce that just over £12,500 was raised from our Rustic Fayre in August. This is a fantastic sum and we are very keen to start allocating this across local causes and organisations as well as the national and international Rotary projects we support. If you would like to nominate a local charity, group or organisation for a donation, don’t forget to submit an application form by 24th October. The form can be downloaded from our website www.verwoodrotary.org.uk or contact [email protected] if any queries.

Thanks to the profits raised through the Rustic Fayre, you can now apply for funding.

At Manitou UK, we always enjoy getting involved in local community events. Last week, we managed to paddle our way to 6th place at the Rustic Fayre duck race 🦆

A huge thank you to Verwood Rotary for organising a fantastic day and bringing the community together. 6th place kindly came with a prize of b**r, which went down well in the office 🍻

You know it’s a good day out when the Councillor spends his birthday at Rustic Fayre. Happy birthday for yesterday Cllr Simon Gibson, thank you for joining us!!

What a way to spend your birthday - the Rustic Fayre b**r tent! Amazing event, well done Verwood Rotary. Just need to behave enough to launch the duck race later on!
