From triple feeding to almost exclusively breastfeeding 🤍

When Francesca first shared her feeding journey with me, I knew it was a story worth telling.

Her experience is one of determination, challenges, support and finding a way forward when breastfeeding doesn't go quite as expected.

I'm so grateful to Francesca for being willing to share her story so openly and honestly, in the hope that it might help another parent going through something similar.

Breastfeeding journeys aren't always straightforward, and there's no single definition of success. Every family deserves to feel supported, whatever their feeding journey looks like.

✨ Read Francesca's full story on my blog https://www.thebirthpreparationcompany.co.uk/blog

And a huge thank you to Francesca for sharing her story. 🤍

And this course had an extra special ending… 🥹

✨ Just one appointment left on each of our upcoming Combined Clinic dates!

📅 Friday 16th October – 1 appointment left
📅 Wednesday 21st October – 1 appointment left

Our combined Breastfeeding & Cranial Osteopathy Clinic in Norwich brings together myself, Andrea (IBCLC Lactation Consultant & Registered Midwife), and Chloe (Paediatric Cranial Osteopath).

During the appointment, we work together to explore feeding difficulties and any underlying tension that may be contributing to them. Alongside Chloe's gentle osteopathic assessment and treatment, I will provide breastfeeding support to help improve feeding effectiveness and comfort for you and your baby.

Whether you're experiencing painful feeding, clicking during feeds, a windy or unsettled baby, or you've noticed your baby seems tense,
uncomfortable or unable to open their mouth wide for a good latch, our combined approach allows us to look at feeding and your baby's comfort together.

📍 Norwich, Norfolk

It’s been one of those weeks where I feel like I’ve barely stopped...

After a really busy week, a long NHS shift yesterday and a busy newborn group this morning, I’m enjoying a little bit of peace and sunshine before getting ready for the final session of my current antenatal course tonight.

Tonight is the final session of my current antenatal course … and then sending another lovely group of expectant parents off into the world feeling hopefully a little more prepared for what’s ahead.

Things have been particularly busy lately, both with my NHS work and the business, so I’ve decided to space my courses out a little more and give myself a bit more breathing room between them.

That means my next course will start on 16th November and it will be my final antenatal course of 2026. There are now just 2 spaces left if you’d like to join us ❤️

And for now… a few minutes of doing absolutely nothing, just making the most of this sunshine while it lasts!

September is apparently the most popular month to have a baby - and this year I can absolutely believe it! 😅 My work as a community midwife has been incredibly busy, and so have my antenatal courses and infant feeding support... so my socials have been getting a bit neglected lately 🙈

Before I find some time to create more content, here’s a really lovely review from one of the couples who attended one of my antenatal courses recently.

“Myself and my partner attended Andrea’s antenatal classes and found them enormously helpful. We are second-time parents and joined predominantly to meet other parents but we gained so much information from Andrea that we didn’t learn ‘first time round’.

She is extremely good at promoting the evidence behind options, but also a huge advocate of ‘your choice’ and encouraging you to go with what feels right for you.

We appreciated the practical advice Andrea provided in a funny, approachable way. Definitely recommend to any new parents!”

Antenatal classes aren’t only for first-time parents. Birth, feeding and baby-care guidance changes, and sometimes it’s only second time around that you realise how much you wish you’d known the first time.

I only have four spaces left on my next Wymondham antenatal course, starting in November - this will be my final course of 2026 🤍

If you’d like to join us, you can find all the details and book via my website.

Sometimes, out of the blue, a message pops up on your phone that really makes you stop and smile. 🤍

I first met Holly and Henry when Henry was just 3 weeks old and breastfeeding wasn't going quite as Holly had hoped. Over the following few months, their journey included support with feeding, a tongue-tie referral and division, cranial osteopathy assessment and treatment with Chloe Savage, and later a breast abscess for Holly.

And then, almost a year after we first met, completely unexpectedly, I received a message from Holly.

Henry was turning ONE — and they had reached one whole year of breastfeeding. 🥹

When you're supporting somebody through those really difficult early days, you don't always get to know what happens afterwards. So to receive a message like this almost a year later, along with some beautiful photographs of Holly and Henry together, was incredibly special.

Congratulations, Holly. You did the hard work, through some pretty significant challenges, and you should be incredibly proud of what you and Henry have achieved. 🤍

Thank you, Holly, for taking the time to message me with an update. Messages like this really do mean such a lot.

Everything in this post — including Holly and Henry's names, photographs, messages and review — has been shared with Holly's permission. 🤍
