This week, the Embassy had the pleasure of conducting a courtesy visit to the UN training camp APOTS - Training for Peace, to learn more about the facilities and training programs preparing Ghanaian soldiers for participation in international peacekeeping operations 🕊️

APOTS’ mission is to plan, organize and conduct training for all formed units and personnel earmarked for deployment on international peacekeeping operations assigned to the Ghana Army, as well as to undertake related training activities involving allied and foreign military personnel 🙌

The visit highlighted Ghana’s longstanding contribution to international peace and security, and the important role of professional training in preparing personnel for deployment in complex operational environments. Ghana is currently contributing personnel to 11 peacekeeping and other missions 💪🇬🇭

Last Sunday marked World Press Freedom Day!

The day is a reminder that press freedom globally is under increasing pressure, with many countries facing challenges related to independent journalism and legal protections for journalists📸🎥

Through partnerships with organizations such as PenPlusBytes, the Embassy supports initiatives aimed at strengthening resilience against disinformation and contributing to a free and open media environment 📺🛜

Last week, the Norwegian Embassy joined a business delegation to Côte d’Ivoire arranged by the Norwegian-African Business Association, Ethical Trade Norway and Fairtrade Norway 🙌

During visits across central Côte d’Ivoire, the delegation met with cooperatives, processors, farmers, and local partners. The objective of the trip was to better understand the challenges and opportunities for improving working conditions and livelihoods for farmers and workers, as well as to learn more about cocoa and cashew farming and sourcing practices in the country 💪🇨🇮

The visit highlighted the importance of collaboration between producers, businesses, civil society, and public institutions in building more inclusive and resilient value chains✨

The Embassy also hosted an evening reception for the delegation. A sincere thank you to all partners and hosts for the warm welcome and insightful discussions throughout the programme🙌
