The World Christian Database provides comprehensive statistical information on global Christianity, other world religions, and Christian activities in all 237 countries. Extensive data are available on thousands of Christian denominations, ethnolinguistic people groups, cities, and provinces.

It transforms statistics on religion into a real-time analysis tool that takes just minutes to perform even detailed research.

Click “ACCESS DATA” on the navigation bar to start your searching. Then, by clicking the three dots “…” in the upper right corner of the chart, you may export the data in Excel worksheet format.

Have you ever wondered what happened 70 years ago in the Chinese provinces on this day?

History is often best understood through the local lens. We are pleased to announce the soft launch of the 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐍𝐞𝐰𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐞, the first digitized collection of Chinese contemporary regional newspapers from the mid of the 20th century.

𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐅𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬:
• 41 newspaper titles, including most provincial newspapers of that time.
• Covering the period from August 1946 to December 1972.
• Browsable via a calendar function and searchable on the metadata level.

在地方視角下，我們往往能更深刻地認識歷史。香港中文大學圖書館很高興宣布試行推出新中國地區報章資料庫。本資料庫是首個針對二十世紀中葉中國當代地區報章進行數碼化的館藏。
