*CAPITAL POLICE ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY AGAINST DRUG RELATED OFFENCE"*
On 24.10.2026, acting on specific source information, a police team from Itanagar Police Station constituting S.I Tana Suraj, S.I kipa Robin, Ct. Sandeep yadav, Ct jerry Romin, Ct.Ayekpam Robi left for P.O led by SDPO Itanagar Chera Saban under the close supervision of SP capital Jummar Basar. The team conducted a search at a rented residence in Jul lang, Itanagar in presence of town magistrate Mary Tanyang, after obtaining written authorisation from the competent authority.
During the search, two police personnel were apprehended:
1. Shri Monnong Tangku, Constable, APP(Civil)
2. Shri Jabdang Khabisow, Constable, IRBn.
Suspected he**in weighing approximately 6 grams and 5 grams, respectively, was recovered from their possession, along with their mobile phones. The search and seizure proceedings were conducted in the presence of an Executive Magistrate and an independent witness and documented through the e-Sakshya application.
Both persons were brought to Itanagar Police Station, and a case has been registered vide Itanagar P.S. Case No. 345/2026 under Section 21(a)/27A/29 of the NDPS Act, as endorsed by the Officer-in-Charge. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the source of supply, possible links, and involvement of other persons.
Capital Police reiterates its zero-tolerance policy towards drug-related offences, irrespective of the status or rank of the persons involved.
