👏 FEEL GOOD FRIDAY! 👏
Today marks one week since the fire at Up Park Camp, and as recovery efforts continue under the guidance of the leadership of the Jamaica Defence Force, we remain grateful for the overwhelming support received from our fellow Jamaicans.
A special thank you to the leadership, students, teachers, and staff of Melrose Primary and Infant School, who took the time to send heartfelt notes and messages of encouragement to our soldiers. Their thoughtful words, drawings, and expressions of kindness have uplifted spirits and served as a powerful reminder of the strong bond between the Jamaica Defence Force and the citizens we proudly serve.
Your compassion and support have reinforced our resolve and reminded us that, even in challenging times, we are strengthened by the communities we call home.

JAMAICA DEFENCE FORCE DEPLOYS SERVICEMEMBERS TO SUPPORT GANG SUPPRESSION FORCE MISSION IN HAITI
The Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) has deployed service members to form a Mobile Training Team responsible for the conduct of induction training and shaping the operational readiness of troops deployed as part of the multinational group. Further to this, the JDF has deployed a Headquarters element to directly support the leadership of the Gang Suppression Force (GSF) in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.
This deployment continues Jamaica’s longstanding commitment to regional security and stability in Haiti. It builds directly on the JDF’s previous contributions to the Multi-National Security Support Mission – Haiti (MSSM-H) during which three joint JDF/Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) teams provided operational support to the MSSM Headquarters and conducted capacity-building training with the Haitian National Police (HNP) and other partners from September 2024 through March 2026.
The deployment supports the implementation of United Nations Security Council Resolution (UNSCR) 2793 (2025), which authorises coordinated efforts to counter gang activity and enhance security in Haiti. Jamaica’s participation is both operationally and strategically vital, reflecting the country’s regional leadership role, and deep interest in a stable and secure Caribbean neighbourhood.
This deployment underscores Jamaica’s continued commitment to regional security, multinational cooperation and collective efforts to address threats to peace and stability within the Caribbean region.

When disaster strikes, preparation makes the difference.
The Jamaica Defence Force recently conducted a Hurricane Tabletop Exercise (TTX) involving all Formations and across the Force, strengthening our readiness to respond to hurricanes and other emergencies throughout the 2026 Atlantic Hurricane Season.
Drawing on lessons from Hurricane Melissa and years of operational experience, the exercise tested coordination, planning, and response mechanisms to ensure the JDF remains ready to support Jamaica, our regional partners, and the people we serve when they need us most.
Prepared. Resilient. Mission Ready.
