🎉 Celebrating 5 Years of Urology Excellence at Spanish Town Hospital!

Since its launch in May 2021, healthcare workers at the Urology Department has transformed access to specialized care, performing nearly 1,500 surgeries, providing care to thousands of patients, and introducing advanced procedures that have improved outcomes across St. Catherine and beyond.

A major highlight of the celebration was the donation of an ultrasound machine and prostate biopsy equipment by Dr. Elon Thompson Head of Urology Department, strengthening the hospital's ability to diagnose prostate cancer earlier and more accurately.

This milestone reflects five years of innovation, dedication, and strong partnerships with organizations including the National Health Fund and IRAD, all working to improve healthcare delivery for Jamaicans.

🏥💜 A major boost for maternal and neonatal care at Victoria Jubilee Hospital!

Through a partnership between the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and Food For The Poor Jamaica, Victoria Jubilee Hospital has received 13 CTG machines and a state-of-the-art ultrasound machine valued at approximately JMD $32 million. The donation, along with specialized staff training provided by A.A. Laquis Medical Division, will enhance care for mothers and newborns and support the early detection of pregnancy-related complications. The official handover ceremony of the equipment took place today, June 15, 2026 at the hospital. Thanks to our donors.

❤️🏥 Eight Jamaican children with complex heart conditions received life-changing open-heart surgeries at Bustamante Hospital for Children between June 8–12, 2026, through a collaborative Cardiac Surgery Mission.

This year also marks 30 years since Professor Victor Tsang and Professor Magdi Yacoub began providing free cardiac interventions for Jamaican children, transforming countless lives since their first mission in 1996.

The mission is made possible through the partnership of Bustamante Hospital for Children, Chain of Hope UK, and Gift of Life International.

Tour of inside of the new staff lounge at the Victoria Jubilee Hospital that was generously donated by the Mia'Sarka Foundation and named in honour of its Founder, Carol Picart, the courtyard has been thoughtfully designed as a wellness and relaxation area for healthcare workers. This tranquil space provides an opportunity for staff to rest, recharge, connect with colleagues, and decompress during their breaks.

By investing in the well-being of our healthcare professionals, we are fostering a healthier, more compassionate workplace for those who dedicate themselves to caring for others.
