IN LOVING MEMORY OF MADAM PENEHUPIFO POHAMBA (1948–2026)

The Chairperson, Honourable Regional Councillors, Management and Staff of the Erongo Regional Council join the nation in mourning the passing of former First Lady, Madam Penehupifo Pohamba.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to His Excellency, former President Hifikepunye Pohamba, the bereaved family and the Namibian nation during this time of sorrow.

Erongo Regional Council, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Social Services, invites members of the public and relevant stakeholders to a public consultation on the Draft Human Tissue Bill and Draft Blood Service Bill.

The consultation aims to gather public input on the proposed legislation concerning human tissue donation, medical research, post-mortem examinations and the provision of safe blood in Namibia.

Members of the public are encouraged to attend, share their views and contribute to this important legislative process.

The Chairperson of the Erongo Regional Council, Hon. Lazarus Kanelombe welcomed Her Excellency, Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, President of the Republic of Namibia, to the 10th SWAITEX held in Swakopmund this morning at the Dome.

In his statement, Hon. Kanelombe emphasised the importance of ensuring that business opportunities are not only concentrated in the urban areas but extended to benefit the rural based population in the Region.

The opening of the SWAITEX was attended by Regional Councillors from Walvis Bay Urban and Rural, the Chief Regional Officer, members of the diplomatic corps, business executives and entrepreneurs.
