Germany supports start-ups in Namibia 🇩🇪🤝🇳🇦

In line with Germany's 🇩🇪 strong emphasis on environmental protection and the promotion of renewable energy, the Residence of the German Embassy received a state-of-the-art, high-performance solar 🌞 energy system with a maximum output of 50 kWh, which is made up of 82 solar panels and a battery storage capacity of 2️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ kilowatt-hours.
Last Wednesday, 26th October, Ambassador Thomas Wimmer held a small inauguration reception with invited guests.

Guest Lecture by Dr Gertrud Boden, Oswin Köhler Archive, Institute of African Studies, Goethe University Frankfurt. 🇩🇪🤝🇳🇦

The Oswin Köhler Archive at the Goethe University Frankfurt houses the world’s largest collection of documents on the language and culture of the Indigenous Khwe people, most of whom live in Namibia’s Bwabwata National Park. The documents were compiled between 1959 and 1992 by Khwe sources and their scholar, the German Africanist Oswin Köhler. Over the past ten years, these materials have been further developed and adapted in collaboration with members of the Khwe community, resulting in a diverse range of resources designed to help younger generations of the Khwe learn their language and culture, and a database that accommodates Khwe concepts, voices, and norms.
