SOUTHERN KADUNA CONFERS “GRAND COMMANDER OF SOUTHERN KADUNA” ON DEFENCE MINISTER
The people of Southern Kaduna have conferred the title of Grand Commander of Southern Kaduna, GCSK, on the Honourable Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd), OFR, in recognition of his service to the nation and commitment to peace, security, and national unity.
The conferment took place during a ceremony attended by traditional rulers, political leaders, community stakeholders, youth and religious groups, and residents from across Southern Kaduna and environs.
Receiving the honour, General Musa thanked the people of Southern Kaduna for the recognition and described the region as prosperous and promising. He dedicated the award to all patriotic and peace-loving Nigerians, noting that Southern Kaduna has produced distinguished men and women excelling in various fields.
The Minister urged youths of the region to remain law-abiding and avoid activities that could lead to conflict or criminality. He stressed that security is a collective responsibility and called on stakeholders to work together to eradicate insecurity. He also commended community leaders for their role in intelligence gathering and urged continued provision of timely and accurate information on criminal activities.
General Musa encouraged the people to uphold the values for which Southern Kaduna is known: hard work, respect for the law, sacrifice, service, and humility. He emphasized that peace and cohesion are essential for national development and urged continued support for the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, citing increased Federal Government presence and developmental interventions in the region over the past three years.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Southern Kaduna Leaders Council, Elder Akau Moses, described General Musa as a worthy ambassador of the region whose military career has brought pride to Southern Kaduna and Nigeria. He said the Minister’s dedication, professionalism, courage, and patriotism have earned national and international recognition, and that the award acknowledges his contributions to national security and his example to young Nigerians.

EID EL-KABIR: MINISTER OF DEFENCE URGES UNITY, RECOMMITMENT TO NATIONAL SECURITY, AND PAYS TRIBUTE TO TROOPS
ABUJA — As the Muslim Ummah celebrate this year’s Eid el-Kabir, the Honourable Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd), extends his warmest felicitations to all Muslim brothers and sisters across the nation and members of the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
The Minister notes that Eid el-Kabir symbolises supreme sacrifice, unalloyed faith, and total obedience to the divine will. He urges all Nigerians to imbibe these profound values, reflecting on how collective sacrifice and devotion can further strengthen the fabric of our national unity.
“The peace and progress of our nation require a shared commitment,” General Musa stated. “In the spirit of this holy season, let us transcend our differences and join hands in keeping faith with the ideals of a strong, secure, and indivisible Nigeria.”
The Honourable Minister uses this auspicious occasion to commend the bravery, resilience, and patriotism of the officers and men of the Armed Forces of Nigeria. He praises their tireless efforts in safeguarding the nation’s territorial integrity and battling criminality across various theatres of operation.
“While we celebrate in the comfort of our homes, we must remember and pray for our gallant troops who remain on the frontlines to ensure our safety. The Ministry of Defence remains unyielding in its commitment to providing the necessary support, welfare, and equipment required to decisively defeat all threats to our national peace.”
General Musa also calls on all citizens to remain vigilant, support the security agencies, and report any suspicious activities within their communities, emphasising that national security is a collective responsibility.
He wishes the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and all Nigerians a peaceful and blessed celebration.

*DEFENCE MINISTER CALLS FOR CONTINUED NATIONAL SUPPORT FOR TROOPS AS HE RECEIVES PASTOR LAZARUS MUOKA*
The Honourable Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd.) OFR, has reaffirmed the critical role of moral support and national unity in strengthening the resolve of the Armed Forces of Nigeria in the ongoing fight against insecurity across the country.
The Minister stated this when he received the General Overseer of The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries, Pastor Lazarus Muoka, on a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Defence Headquarters, Abuja.
General Musa noted that the fight against insurgency, banditry, terrorism, and other forms of criminality requires a whole-of-society approach, stressing that the prayers and encouragement from religious bodies continue to boost the morale of troops deployed in various theatres of operation nationwide.
The Defence Minister expressed appreciation to Pastor Muoka and members of the church for their sustained prayers and unwavering support for Nigeria’s security institutions. He emphasized that the Armed Forces remain committed to defending the nation’s territorial integrity and safeguarding the lives and property of all Nigerians.
General Musa further called on religious leaders across the country to continue promoting peace, unity, patriotism, and national cohesion, noting that faith-based organizations have a strategic role to play in fostering harmony and supporting national security efforts.
In his remarks, Pastor Muoka assured the Honourable Minister of the church’s continued support for the Armed Forces and the Federal Government. He offered prayers for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, asking God to grant him wisdom, strength, good health, and the capacity to lead the nation towards greater peace, stability, and economic prosperity.
The cleric also prayed for divine protection and victory for Nigerian troops, as well as lasting peace across all parts of the country.
The visit featured the exchange of souvenirs and reaffirmed the commitment of both the Ministry of Defence and the Christian community to continued collaboration in advancing national peace, unity, and security.
