Out of over 9,000 entrepreneurs at the Ondo Entrepreneurs Summit 2026, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa announced that 500 youths and entrepreneurs would receive Dangote shares.

As some attendees stood up to celebrate the announcement, little did they know that the moment would become the beginning of an unexpected opportunity. The cameras captured them as they stood, and when the photographs were later shared, they were able to identify themselves. Today, they are shareholders in the Dangote Refinery.

Among the beneficiaries are people who describe themselves as “children of nobody” and even a charcoal seller who is now a shareholder. Their stories demonstrate that access to opportunities does not have to depend on connections, background, or social status.
