​Isang masaganang ani ang muling naisakatuparan ng mga Tumog Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries sa tulong ng Project LAWA at BINHI ng DSWD CAR sa pakikipagtulungan sa Apayao Provincial Local Government at sa Lokal na Pamahalaan ng Bayan ng Luna! Sa kabila ng mga hamon ng panahon, patunay ang aning ito na kapag may sapat na kaalaman sa patubig at pagtatanim, may tiyak na pagkain sa bawat hapag-kainan.

LUNA, APAYAO — Through the tireless efforts of our local partner-beneficiaries, Project LAWA at BINHI yielded a remarkable 2,300 kg of fresh vegetables throughout July and August 2026. Beyond supplying local tables, these fresh harvests reached wider markets through active participation in the Kadiwa ng Pangulo trade fairs.

Spanning 22 established PLAB sites across the province, the initiative directly reinforced local food security while generating ₱98,000 in total community income—providing tangible economic support to hardworking farming families.

This meaningful milestone reflects the seamless collaboration between the DSWD Field Office Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) and the Provincial Government of Apayao and the respective Municipal LGUs whose ongoing technical guidance and quality seed provisions continue to fuel the project's sustainability.

Together, we remain committed to nurturing climate-resilient agriculture, elevating rural livelihoods, and growing a self-sufficient Apayao.

The successful turnover of Project LAWA at BINHI to the Agta Tribe Association in Sitio Bayugao, Turod, Luna, Apayao marks another step toward strengthening food security, sustainable livelihoods, particularly among Indigenous Peoples (IPs) and
strengthening community resilience.

PROJECT TURNOVER💧🌱

The Project LAWA at BINHI was successfully turned over to the MACATEL FARMERS ASSOCIATION in Caglayan, Conner, Apayao and to its 50 active partner-beneficiaries.

The event took an emotional turn when one of our partner-beneficiaries took the stage to sing "Biag ti Pobre" (Life of the Poor). Through his song, he movingly described the daily struggles of marginalized farmers, pouring out heartfelt gratitude to the program for truly listening, reaching out, and making them a priority.

This initiative is more than just a turnover—it’s a promise kept, bringing sustainable water access and food security straight to the hands of those who feed us. Here’s to a resilient, thriving future for Conner!

Handing over the keys to a more resilient Macalino: Official turnover of the Project LAWA at BINHI site to the Masuwerte Agriculture Cooperative 🌾💧

A major milestone for climate resilience and food security in Apayao! The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), in close partnership with the Local Government Unit of Calanasan, officially turned over the completed Project LAWA at BINHI sites to our partner-beneficiaries in Barangay Macalino.

Through the combined efforts of the community during the Cash-for-Work and Cash-for-Training components, Macalino is now better equipped with small-scale water solutions (LAWA) and sustainable communal farming systems (BINHI). This initiative doesn't just provide immediate support—it builds long-term self-reliance and equips our communities to adapt to changing climate realities.
