“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” — Joshua 1:9

Being a student comes with many challenges, from difficult lessons and upcoming assessments or quizzes, to responsibilities and expectations. Sometimes, we may feel overwhelmed or doubt our abilities, especially when things do not go as planned.

For a brand new week of October, Joshua 1:9 reminds us that we do not have to face these challenges alone because God is always with us. He gives us the courage to keep trying, have the strength to overcome difficulties, and the wisdom to make the right decisions.

As CICM Louisians, let us face each day with faith and determination, trusting that God as our guide, we can turn our struggles into opportunities to grow and become better versions of ourselves.đź«‚

SANAMA KAMUSTAHAN | October 14, 2026

A gentle reminder that you are safe, heard, and never alone! The SANAMA Kamustahan Meeting was more than just a gathering, it was a safe space for student officers to share their thoughts, express their feelings, and remind one another that their efforts are valued. Always remember that we students leaders and school officials are proud of you, your hard work matters, and you have people who are always willing to listen and support you. No matter how challenging things get, you are appreciated more than you know. Together, we grow, support, and uplift one another!

The program began with an opening prayer, followed by a short icebreaker to help everyone feel comfortable and connected. This was followed by a speech from our school principal Sir Alejandro Pablico, the discussion and Kamustahan led by the SANAMA President Ainsley Danglosi, an open Q&A session, and a short message from Sir Michael Jarata before the closing prayer.

As Sir Jarata emphasized, communication is key to building stronger relationships, understanding one another, and becoming better leaders. Meanwhile, Sir Pablico reminded us of the importance of being more Christ—centered in our leadership by living out our Christian and Catholic values through our words, actions, and decisions. As we continue to grow, may we lead with faith, kindness, understanding, and compassion, always remembering that true leadership is not just about guiding others but also about serving them with love and respect. 💙💫

October 2026 | Mental Health Awareness Month

đź«‚ How are you, Louisians?
🫶 Kamusta ka, pre?

How do you answer those questions? Let’s admit it—we usually answer with an “okay lang” or “goods pre” out of habit, but is that how we truly feel?

You don’t always have to play it strong. Our minds deserve a break, a rest, and a genuine check-in too. You don’t have to navigate through life alone, nor do you have to carry heavy troubles in silence. Be gentle with yourself—everything that feels like it’s breaking you today is secretly building your strength for tomorrow.

“Malayo pa, pero malayo na”. Be gentle and take a moment to embrace yourself. You’re doing better than you think. 💚

OCTOBER | Rosary and Mission Month

The month of October is a time to deepen our faith through the Holy Rosary and embrace our mission of sharing Christ’s love to others.

As one Louisian family, let us journey with Mother Mary and answer Christ’s call to be missionaries of love, compassion and hope. Every prayer we offer and every act of kindness we do becomes a path that brings others closer to God, making us stars of hope.

SEPTEMBER 5 - OCTOBER 5 | TEACHERS' MONTH

Teachers’ Day is a special celebration that honors our beloved teachers’ patience, commitment to educating us Louisians, and their sincere dedication, guidance, and contributions to our continuous growth and learning. It is a day to recognize the important role they play in shaping not only our knowledge and skills, but also our character and values as we grow.

For us Louisians, this celebration reminds us not only to show gratitude and respect to our teachers, but also to appreciate the time, effort, patience, and guidance they give us every day so we can learn and grow. It encourages us to value their lessons, and carry the knowledge and values they instill beyond the classroom.

Through Teachers’ Day, we are reminded that behind every lesson is a teacher who believes in our potential and helps us become better individuals in the future.

Lying in bed at night, it is easy to let your mind race with tomorrow’s pressure from heavy work and upcoming deadlines to the unexpected challenges of life. Matthew 6:34 reminds us that trying to carry tomorrow’s worries tonight only drains the strength you need for today. Going to sleep is an act of trust, a choice to step back and recognize that you don’t have to figure it out all on your own. Trust in God’s plan for His grace will sustain you forever.

GRIT IN ACTION: Leading with Courage, Character and Compassion

Leadership training gave our student leaders the opportunity to step away from their usual responsibilities and focus on what it truly means to lead. Beyond the title, we were reminded that leadership begins with knowing yourself, understanding others, and being willing to take responsibility.

Being a leader does not always mean having the loudest voice or being the one in front. Sometimes, leadership is found in listening, understanding, encouraging others, and staying committed even when things do not go as planned. As Mrs. Triceayn Marie De Guzman-Prestousta said, we must have courage. Courage is not the absence of difficulty; it is choosing a responsible, next smart step despite difficulty. We must not be fueled by unfamiliarity towards ourselves, but instead, we must understand and process. Despite that, we should not be defined by what we feel. “You are not your emotions,” Ms. Justine S. Latawan said. To be kind is a choice and an action. By choosing to act kindly, we embody Christ and nurture compassion.

The day also reminded us that every leader faces challenges—challenges that are part of the journey. As we return to our roles, may we bring these lessons with us, not just in our responsibilities, but as individuals who can inspire, serve, and make a difference through our everyday actions. Leadership starts with one decision, one action, and people willing to make a difference. Lastly, as Mr. Alejandro P. Pablico said, “Leadership is not tested when everything is easy—leadership is revealed when things become difficult.”
