In line with its commitment to bring government services faster and closer to the public, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Central Visayas continues its mobile service delivery efforts through its participation in various service caravans, fairs, and outreach activities across the region from 25 to 30 May 2026.

Through the Civil Registry System (CRS) Mobile Outlet and National ID mobile services, PSA Central Visayas made essential services more accessible to communities, including those in remote and geographically isolated areas.

The Philippine Statistics Authority ( ) partners with local leaders in the convenings of the Communityโ€‘Based Monitoring System ( ) Coordinating Boards, which are taking place across the country at the regional, provincial, and city/municipal levels. These multiโ€‘level engagements bring together local agencies and governments to strengthen collaboration, present capacityโ€‘building activities for local government units in 2026, prepare for the 2027 CBMS cycle, and advance other PSA initiatives that promote dataโ€‘driven local development.

On 03 June 2026, PSA Regional Statistical Services Office VII (RSSO VII) and PSA Cebu Provincial Statistical Office attended the official turnover of the Coffee Industry Development Office (CIDO) โ€“ Visayas and the First Quarter Technical Working Group (TWG) Meeting on Tuburan Coffee in Tuburan, Cebu.

During the activity, the TWG members, local government officials, coffee farmers, and other stakeholders convened to discuss updates, initiatives, and developments in the coffee industry, as well as recognize the contributions of individuals and organizations supporting coffee production in the region.

The PSA recognizes the importance of reliable statistics in supporting agricultural planning and policy formulation. The agency remains committed to providing quality data and technical assistance that can help guide programs and interventions for the continued growth and development of the coffee sector.

The main contributors to the overall inflation in May 2026 were:

๐Ÿฝ๏ธ Food and non-alcoholic beverages - 32.7%
๐Ÿ  Housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels - 24.0%
๐Ÿš Transport - 21.9%

Meanwhile, core inflation, which excludes selected food and energy items, accelerated to 4.1% in May 2026 from 3.9% in April 2026.

Held on 09 to 11 December 2025, the panel discussion underscored the importance of reliable climate data in shaping evidence-based policies, strengthening inter-agency collaboration, improving climate financing, and advancing sustainable and resilient development for the Philippines.

Additionally, the discussion marked the launch of the project, โ€œStrengthening Capacity to Produce and Use Statistics for Effective Climate Action in Asia and the Pacific,โ€ currently undertaken by the Philippine Statistics Authority in partnership with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP).
