Theme: Empowering Young Minds: Building Life Skills, Entrepreneurial Spirit, and Financial Wisdom!

As part of the Life Skills Training for Children, Youth, and Out-of-School Youth (OSY’s), participants explored the importance of financial literacy—learning how to manage money wisely, distinguish needs from wants, save for the future, budget responsibly, and make smart financial decisions thru the discussion by Ms. Maria Liza Bolaños, LBP-Daraga Branch.

The discussion also focused on “How to Be a Young Entrepreneur”, inspiring our young participants to recognize opportunities, turn simple ideas into potential businesses, develop an entrepreneurial mindset, and understand the importance of creativity, perseverance, responsible decision-making, and customer service during the discussion of Mx. Anghel Lozada, DTI-Albay.

The activity was conducted thru the LGU Daraga, MSWDO and Special Drug Education Center in connection of the Linggo ng Kabataan late celebration.

Empowering the youth means giving them not only skills for today, but wisdom and opportunities for tomorrow.

The LGU-Daraga, through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), in coordination with the Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) of Daraga, successfully conducted the Child Protection Specialty Training for the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) on August 27–28, 2026, at Lala’s Foodhouse and Catering Services, Daraga, Albay.

The two-day training aimed to strengthen the knowledge, skills, and competencies of MDT members in child protection, case management, referral mechanisms, and appropriate responses to children in need of special protection, including cases involving Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL) and Children at Risk (CAR).

Through this initiative, the LGU-Daraga continues to strengthen its local child protection system and foster stronger coordination among agencies and stakeholders in safeguarding the rights, welfare, and best interests of every child.

Our heartfelt appreciation to our esteemed resource persons from DSWD FOV — Ms. Rhoda Mendaros, RSW, and Ms. Jindra Refil, RSW — and RJJWC Bicol Secretariat Ms. Genoveva Barcelon, RSW, for generously sharing your knowledge, experience, and expertise.
