Promoting Excellence, Transforming Lives through Culture and Literacy!

Baracayo Integrated School, led by our School Head, Ma'am Marivic Aguilar Obatonon , successfully held its school-based celebration for National Indigenous Peoples Month today! This activity directly anchors our school mantra, Promoting Excellence, Transforming Lives, through focused efforts on building a stronger love for preserving indigenous culture and love for reading among our learners.

The children had an absolute blast today. The big highlight was definitely when the Davao City Mobile Library truck drove onto our school grounds. The kids were jumping with excitement during the "Magbasa Ta" reading sessions, the storytelling time, and the mascot show that had everyone cheering. Our Junior High School students also had a very productive afternoon learning important real-life safety skills during a Disaster Preparedness and Basic Life Support lecture.

We are incredibly grateful and want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our special guests who spent their day with us. Thank you so much to Ms. Rhona C. Taboada (RMC Chief Librarian) for the beautiful books you donated to our school Reading Center/ library. We also deeply appreciate Ms. Salome Enoc (Librarian IV) and the rest of the Davao City Library team for bringing the mobile library right to our doorstep

CONGRATULATIONS BARACAYO INTEGRATED SCHOOL!
A proud moment for our school community! Yesterday, October 23, 2026, Baracayo Integrated School was officially recognized during the awarding ceremony at The Ritz Hotel at Garden Oases, Davao City. Our school received the Plaque of Recognition for the Commitment to Healthy Futures Award (Division Search for the Model School Implementers for S.Y. 2025–2026) under the School-Based Feeding Program.

This milestone is a result of the leadership and guidance of our School Head, Ma'am Marivic Aguilar Obatonon , and the hard work of our dedicated SBFP School Coordinators: Ma'am Christy P. Del Valle (SBFP School Focal Person - Elementary) Ma'am Pamela G. Getigan (SBFP for JHS). We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Charissa Abigail Fajardo, RN, Kate Junalee Z. Mawalic, RN, and Sir Romeo Poticar, AO, for their invaluable support, guidance, and assistance in making this program a success. Thanks also to all the teachers, parent volunteers during Tagbo, and school stakeholders who helped prepare and support our daily feeding operations to ensure our learners are healthy and well-nourished.

Pakig-AMBIT 2026: Baracayo Integrated School Welcomes Davao City Division Monitoring Team

Baracayo Integrated School, under the proactive leadership of School Head Marivic Aguilar Obatonon , officially welcomed the Davao City Division Monitoring and Evaluation Team. The visit was anchored on Pakig-AMBIT, with the goal of strengthening the School-Based Implementation of the Revised K to 12 Basic Education Curriculum through vital technical assistance for our school leaders and teachers.

This framework, which stands for Assess, Monitor, Build-up, Implement, and Tasking, serves as a key DepEd initiative designed to calibrate school performance and elevate institutional teaching standards.

The Division Monitoring Team was led by Nick B. Jamisola , Cluster 12 Head and Joberth A. Sabanal, Cluster 16 Principal In-Charge, alongside our Public Schools Cluster 1 District Supervisors, Johnito O. Galan, EdD and Lydia V. Ampo, EdD (Cluster 6). Together, they provided technical assistance and mentoring regarding learning assessments, and carefully evaluated our instructional portfolios and localized materials.

School Head, Marivic A. Obatonon presented the institutional milestones achieved through the collaborative and collective team effort of our teachers, active learners, and supportive school stakeholders.

The school community showcased their evident practices and achievements under the 4 ACEs of Cluster-Excellence through our localized B.U.K.A.L. (Building Up Knowledge, Abilities, and Learning) projects:
• ACE OF HEART (Wellness) – B.U.K.A.L. PUSO: Featuring Project D.A.S.I.G. (Dangal ng Pagka-Pilipino, Aktibong Kumilos at Sumunod sa Alituntunin ng Paaralan para sa Kaayusan ng Sinu-sino).
• ACE OF SPADE (Innovation) – B.U.K.A.L. TUKLAS: Featuring Project C.H.A.Y.O.T.E. (Cultivating Healthy Agriculture for Youth Opportunities, Togetherness & Environmental Stewardship) and Project P.A.D.S. (Providing Access to Dignified Sanitation).
• ACE OF DIAMOND (Excellence) B.U.K.A.L. TAGUMPAY: Featuring Project Most Discipline Classroom (Disiplina sa Sarili, Respeto sa Kapwa, Tagumpay ng Bawat Isa) alongside school certificates and our official school publication, The Highland.
• ACE OF CLUBS (Learning Environment) B.U.K.A.L. KARUNUNGAN: Featuring Project Action Research (Bridging Through Life: Improving Reading Comprehension of Grade 6 Learners) and Project S.M.A.R.T. (Systematic Management of Assessment Records and Teaching Files).

NATIONAL SCHOOL SAFETY WEEK | CHILD PROTECTION COMMITTEE MEETING

As part of the observance of National School Safety Week, Baracayo Integrated School conducted a Child Protection Committee (CPC) Meeting spearheaded by School Head Marivic A. Obatonon, with the active participation of JHS Guidance Focal Mary Jane P. Sanggolian, Elementary Guidance Focal Geraldine R. Siarot, Teachers Club President Mardel M. Literal, SSLG President Rheal Faith Obcial, and SELG President Prince Carl C. Arais.

The meeting provided a meaningful avenue for the voices of our learners to be heard. Through the SSLG and SELG Presidents, various concerns and challenges encountered by learners were raised, discussed, and given immediate action plans to ensure that their needs are properly addressed.

School Head Marivic A. Obatonon encouraged the student leaders to be a friend and trusted listener to fellow learners, emphasizing that students may find it easier to share their stories, concerns, and experiences with someone who understands them at their own level.

This initiative reflects our continuing commitment to creating a safe, caring, inclusive, and child-friendly school environment where every learner feels heard, respected, protected, and supported.

Together, let us listen to our learners, respond to their needs, and make our school a safer place for every child.

The Mathematics Month Celebration 2026 at Baracayo Integrated School highlighted learners’ creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills through a series of engaging mathematical activities in line with the theme “Mathematics and Hope.”

The celebration featured five major activities: Digital Art Collage, STEMazing, Geometry of Hope, Numeracy Games, and Mathematics Problem-Solving Relay. Learners showcased their artistic talents through Canva digital poster-making, demonstrated logical thinking and strategic skills in the Rubik’s Cube Challenge and Tangrams, explored geometric patterns through tessellation, enhanced their numeracy skills through Sudoku, and worked collaboratively to solve mathematical problems.

The event was spearheaded by Sir Mark Anthony U. Cabatingan, Teacher I and JHS Mathematics Coordinator, with the assistance of Ma’am Angel C. Mapanao, Sir Jhonril A. Granaderos, and the Mathematics Club Officers under the guidance of the school head Ma'am Marivic Aguilar Obatonon. Their collective efforts in preparing, facilitating, evaluating, and documenting the activities contributed to the successful implementation of the celebration.

A significant highlight of the event was the active participation of learners in applying mathematical concepts beyond the classroom. Through hands-on challenges and collaborative tasks, they demonstrated perseverance, creativity, teamwork, and confidence in addressing mathematical problems.

The celebration culminated in the recognition and awarding of winners, honoring the outstanding performances, creativity, and mathematical abilities of participating learners.

Overall, the Mathematics Month Celebration 2026 strengthened learners’ appreciation of mathematics as an essential tool for learning and everyday life. It reinforced the message that mathematics develops not only analytical minds but also the hope, determination, and skills needed to overcome challenges and build a better future.

BIS Launches School Safety Week 2026
October 12, 2026

Baracayo Integrated School officially launched School Safety Week 2026 during its Monday flag ceremony, led by School Head Marivic Aguilar Obatonon , together with SGC Elected Co-Chairperson Teddy C. Verano, SPTA President Rustom Nunal, SPTA Treasurer Rejean P. Sayloon, teachers, learners, and community stakeholders.

Barangay Chairperson of Daliaon Plantation Generoso Bacalso also graced the activity and reminded everyone of their responsibility to maintain peace and order in the community. He emphasized the importance of observing the nighttime curfew to help keep children and other residents safe.

One of the highlights of the activity was the signing of the Panata ng Buong Komunidad para sa Mas Ligtas na Paaralan, where school personnel and stakeholders pledged their support for a safer learning environment.

Through this activity, BIS strengthened its partnership with the community in promoting the safety and protection of every learner.
