STRENGTHENING PARCCOM’S ROLE IN AGRARIAN CONFLICT RESOLUTION THROUGH MEDIATION AND CONCILIATION

October 27, 2026 | General Santos City— The regular meeting of the Provincial Agrarian Reform Coordinating Committee (PARCCOM)–Sarangani featured a learning session on the fundamentals of Mediation, Conciliation, and Conflict Resolution in Agrarian Reform, facilitated by Senior Agrarian Reform Program Officer (SARPO) Atty. Grace A. Mascariñas of the Legal Division of the Department of Agrarian Reform Provincial Office (DARPO)–Sarangani.

The session provided valuable insights into the principles and processes of dispute resolution, particularly in addressing agrarian-related conflicts and fostering harmonious relationships among stakeholders. The Private Sectoral Representatives (PSRs) expressed their appreciation for the knowledge gained, which will help them perform their coordinative and facilitative roles more effectively.

Through this initiative, PARCCOM–Sarangani reaffirms its commitment to strengthening stakeholder coordination, promoting constructive dialogue, and supporting the effective implementation of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP).

September 29, 2026, General Santos City. The recently concluded 3Q Joint PARCCOM-PCIT meeting was presided by DARPO Sarangani's PARPO I Marhlie V. Pasal. The attendees provided updates on the programs and activities of partner agencies, particularly on agricultural support services, market linkages, land management, and irrigation projects. Key discussions focused on the proposed white corn production initiative, the provision of agricultural inputs and marketing assistance, the status of ongoing projects, and concerns regarding the management of irrigation facilities. Issues affecting farmers and ARBOs were also raised, highlighting the need for continued coordination among concerned agencies to address their needs and concerns. It was attended by representatives from LBP-FSSC XII, City Agriculturist Office, DENR-PENRO, NIA, DARPO Sarangani, and PARCCOM members.
