Cagayan de Oro City- The Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office No. X (DOLE-X) recognized the 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐏𝐄𝐒𝐎 during the 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐎𝐋𝐄-𝐗 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐄𝐒𝐎/𝐉𝐏𝐎 𝐌𝐢𝐝-𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 today, at Chali Resort and Conference Center, this city.
The recognition celebrates the exemplary performance, innovations, and dedication of Public Employment Service Offices (PESOs) and Job Placement Offices (JPOs) in delivering responsive employment services to jobseekers and employers across Northern Mindanao. This is in line with the thrust of 𝐃𝐎𝐋𝐄 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐬 ‘𝐓𝐎𝐋’ 𝐓𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐨 to strengthen employment facilitation and bring government services closer to the people.
The regional winners from eight categories will represent Northern Mindanao in the National Search for Best PESO, competing with top-performing PESOs from across the country. The national winners will be recognized during the 2026 National PESO Congress in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu Province in October. Also recognized today were the Provincial and Regional Evaluators, whose time and commitment contributed to a fair and meaningful selection process.
DOLE-X congratulates all the nominees, winners, evaluators, and PESO partners for their continued commitment to public service and employment facilitation.

he Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Region 10 held the Financial Awareness Seminar - Small Business Management Training & Psychosocial Orientation on August 20, 2026, at the DMW Regional Office 10 in Cagayan de Oro City.
In order to foster long-term growth, stability, and successful reintegration, the activity provided nineteen (19) participants with financial literacy, entrepreneurial skills, and psychosocial support.
The participants were welcomed by WRSD Chief Marry Gil A. Damasing-Palisbo, and were inspired thru a speech by OIC-Regional Director Emmanuel G. Toledo.
Ms. Greenly L. Batucan of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) led the session on entrepreneurial mindsetting; Laurenz Jude A. Valdehueza of the Department of Health (DOH) led the psychosocial orientation; and LEO I Nafidah M. Marandang led the business model canvas.
The activity concluded with closing remarks by Overseas Employment Adjudicator Atty. Michael Thomas S. Arao, who praised the participants for their commitment to learning and wished them success in their reintegration journey.

𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐍𝐎𝐖 | KABALIKAT 2026: Partners' Conversation and Assistance Program for Migrant Workers
The Department of Migrant Workers - Region 10 (DMW-10) is launching KABALIKAT 2026: Partners' Conversation and Assistance Program for Migrant Workers on August 24, 2026, at the Chali Beach Resort and Conference Center in Cugman, Cagayan de Oro City.
The event brings together DMW officials, Philippine Recruitment Agencies (PRAs), PESOMAP officers, and other key stakeholders to improve coordination in promoting the rights, welfare, protection, and empowerment of migrant workers and their families.
The program is graced by DMW Assistant Secretary Jerome A. Alcantara, Labor Attaché I Herminigildo L. Daytoc, Director IV Mel L. Candano, and OIC Regional Director Emmanuel G. Toledo.
The Partners' Conversation is the program's first component, allowing stakeholders to engage in discussions and identify opportunities to ensure that programs and services are responsive to the changing needs and concerns of migrant workers and their families.

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Bukidnon Provincial Field Office successfully conducted a Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD) payout for 60 beneficiaries on August 6, 2026, as part of the agency’s ongoing support for the Coffee Industry Roadmap of the Provincial Government of Bukidnon (PGB) championed by Bukidnon Governor Rogelio Neil Roque.
The beneficiaries, residents of Barangays New Eden and Mendes in the municipality of Pangantucan, received ₱7,500 each in compensation for their 15-day work at a local coffee nursery. The chosen location is recognized as a prime area for coffee cultivation, making the nursery a strategic investment in the province’s agricultural future.
The TUPAD program provided these workers with temporary employment while contributing directly to the province’s long-term vision in establishing Bukidon as the coffee capital and transforming the local coffee sector into a globally competitive, high-value industry.
Their tasks included nursery preparation and maintenance, potting and media preparation, and plant maintenance, ensuring the sustainability of the coffee project.
The initiative aligns with the commitment of DOLE Secretary Francis N. Tolentino to provide a safety net for vulnerable and displaced workers, ensuring that no Filipino is left behind during economic challenges. It also reinforces the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in fostering inclusive growth through targeted employment and livelihood programs.

DOLE strengthens implementation and monitoring of Wage Orders.
The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) issued Administrative Order No. 264, Series of 2026, which sets guidelines for the implementation, monitoring, enforcement, and exemption of Wage Orders.
This includes continued monitoring of compliance, enhanced coordination among NWPC, RTWPBs, and DOLE Regional Offices, and a special exemption mechanism for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
The Order also establishes a timely reporting, policy and impact assessment, and ongoing consultation between labor, management, and government.
Through this, DOLE aims to ensure the proper implementation of Wage Orders, stronger enforcement, support for MSMEs, and better planning of wage policies.
