Featured as part of the National Flag Day commemoration, this historic thimble once belonged to Marcela Agoncillo who sewed the first Philippine flag in Hong Kong in May 1898. 🪡🇵🇭
The flag made in Hong Kong was carried back to the Philippines by Emilio Aguinaldo after his exile and was first displayed in battle on May 28, 1898.
Now part of the Malacañan Palace Collection, the thimble was donated by Mrs. Rene Frial Faeldonea during the administration of President Ferdinand Marcos Sr.
