Ishmael Bernal is respected as a filmmaker whose creations offer sharp social critiques and bold reflections on the struggles encountered by Filipinos. His artistic pursuits go beyond simple visual allure. By elevating imagery and employing inventive techniques, he adeptly conveys his messages: championing the fight against censorship, freeing artists, pursuing justice for the underprivileged, and both enlightening and entertaining his audience.

As the cherry on top of the month long celebration of National Heritage Month, the production showcased Filipino women throughoutโquite literallyโspace and time. The iconic caryatids of the Metropolitan Theater as well as notable figures in Philippine history such as Jose Rizal and Gabriela Silang came to life with a delightful mix of song and dance numbers.
The production ended with a fashion show featuring the works of Rommel Padillo Serrano, Norman Peรฑaflorida, and Santi Obcena
Joining the night of celebrating womanhood was NCCA Deputy Executive Director Bernal Joseph Corpuz who gave a few words before the production started.
