Ayon ito sa rainfall forecasts ng DOST-PAGASA sa susunod na tatlong (3) araw at sa geohazard (flood at rain-induced landslide) susceptibility maps ng DENR-MGB.

𝗔𝗡𝗢 𝗔𝗡𝗚 𝗗𝗔𝗣𝗔𝗧 𝗚𝗔𝗪𝗜𝗡:
● 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘆-𝗧𝘂𝗯𝗶𝗴: Maging alerto sa pagtaas o pagbaba ng antas ng baha. Bantayan ang mga lugar na malapit sa mga ilog, dalisdis (slopes), at mga daluyan ng tubig (drainage canals).
● 𝗠𝗮𝗴-𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁 𝗔𝗴𝗮𝗱: I-report o ipagbigay-alam agad ang anumang senyales ng paggalaw ng lupa, biglaang pagtaas ng tubig at pagputik ng tubig-baha.
● 𝗦𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗮𝗵𝗮𝘆: Ipaalam sa mga opisyal ng barangay kung makapansin ng mga bitak o crack sa mga pader, o kaya ay nakatagilid na sahig at poste, lalo na sa mga tabing-dagat o maburol na lugar (sloping areas).

The Mines and Geosciences Bureau–Central Office (MGB-CO), through the Lands Geological Survey Division and Marine Geological Survey Division, in collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology–Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (DOST-PHIVOLCS), the University of the Philippines National Institute of Geological Sciences (UP-NIGS), and the University of the Philippines Los Baños School of Environmental Science and Management (UPLB-SESAM), convened a leveling-off meeting on landslide research initiatives in the Philippines held last May 12, 2026 at the Crispin Hall of PETROLAB.

The Philippines’ metallic mineral production value for the first quarter of 2026 reached PhP82.78 billion, reflecting a 28.6 percent increase from the PhP64.35 billion recorded in the same period in 2025. The increase was driven mainly by higher metal prices and improved output in selected mineral commodities, particularly nickel ore, mixed nickel-cobalt sulfide and scandium oxalate.

Forecasts use GSM (100 mm) and WRF (150 mm) thresholds, except NCR (50 mm). Thresholds may be adjusted based on ground conditions.

𝙂𝙊𝙑𝙀𝙍𝙉𝙈𝙀𝙉𝙏 𝙎𝙀𝙍𝙑𝙄𝘾𝙀 𝘾𝙇𝙊𝙎𝙀𝙍 𝙏𝙊 𝙔𝙊𝙐

The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB), together with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and other national government agencies, launched the 4th leg of the Mobile One Stop Shop (MOSS) today May 28, 2026 at Technopark, Mati City in Davao Oriental.

Davao Oriental Governor Hon. Nelson Dayanghirang Sr. graced the event by welcoming all the MOSS participants and stakeholders.

Meanwhile in his keynote speech, DENR Assistant Secretary for Mining Concerns Engr. Michael V. Cabalda recognized the important role of small scale miners in nation building, local economic growth, and countryside development.

Other DENR and MGB officials present were DENR XI Assistant Regional Executive Director Victor T. Billones, MGB Director Engr. Larry M. Heradez, MGB Assistant Director Dr. Karlo L. Queaño, MGB XI Regional Director Ms. Beverly Mae Brebante, and MGB XII Regional Director Engr. John Mikel Ansao.

MOSS officially opened its booths with the ribbon cutting ceremony followed by the booth scouting by the small scale miners.

The MOSS in Davao will run until tomorrow May 29, 2026.
