📚 𝗔𝗡𝗚 𝟰𝗛 𝗙𝗥𝗔𝗠𝗘𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞: 𝗚𝗔𝗕𝗔𝗬 𝗦𝗔 𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗧𝗔𝗦 𝗡𝗔 𝗣𝗔𝗚𝗞𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗧𝗢

🟢 HAYO | Below 27°C — Manageable Conditions

🔴 HINTO | 42°C and Above — Danger

The teaching and non-teaching personnel of Padre Imo Luna Memorial Elementary School (PILMES), led by our Principal IV, Mrs. Irene Nakpil, actively participated in the San Jose Sub-Office Gender and Development (GAD) Training, held on October 24–25, 2026, at Villa Excellance Beach and Wave Pool Resort, with the theme “Respect, Responsibility and Balance: Advancing Gender-Responsive Practices in the Workplace and Classroom.”

More than a professional development activity, the two-day training provided a meaningful opportunity to deepen our understanding of gender equality, strengthen our sense of professional responsibility, and reflect on how our everyday actions contribute to a respectful, safe, and inclusive school environment.

One of the valuable insights emphasized during the sessions was the importance of nurturing every learner through Gender and Development (GAD) principles. This includes integrating gender perspectives into curriculum and instruction, using gender-sensitive and non-stereotypical learning materials, promoting inclusive language, and providing equal opportunities for participation and leadership. The discussions also highlighted the importance of protecting learners from gender-based violence and discrimination, strengthening teacher capacity, and fostering school practices that recognize and respect individual differences.

Equally meaningful were the discussions on professionalism, respect, and responsibility. We were reminded that creating a safe and supportive learning environment begins with how we communicate, respond to individual needs, challenge stereotypes, and demonstrate fairness and compassion toward our learners and colleagues.

The training also shed light on the importance of personal well-being and work-life balance, particularly in recognizing the stages of stress—alarm, resistance, and exhaustion. As educators, we continuously strive to fulfill our responsibilities, but we must also recognize that caring for our own physical, mental, and emotional well-being enables us to serve others more effectively. Maintaining balance is not a departure from professionalism, but an essential part of sustaining it.

Our heartfelt appreciation goes to our resource speakers, Doc Nancy D. Lubis, Sir Lou C. Panaligan, and Nurse Christian Harina, for generously sharing their knowledge, valuable insights, and practical guidance. Their meaningful discussions encouraged us to become more mindful, compassionate, responsible, and gender-responsive individuals.

We also extend our sincere gratitude to the San Jose Sub-Office, headed by Doc Joel B. Lubis, together with Mrs. Mildred De Torres and the organizing team, for making this enriching learning experience possible.

As we bring these lessons back to PILMES, may we continue to transform awareness into meaningful action—by practicing respect, embracing shared responsibility, promoting gender equality, and maintaining balance in both our personal and professional lives.

Because an inclusive school community is built not only through policies and programs, but through the everyday choices we make to ensure that everyone feels safe, valued, respected, and empowered. 💜✨
