Paliwanag ng PAGASA, tumutukoy ang dry condition sa kaunting pag-ulan sa loob ng dalawang magkasunod na buwan; dry spell naman ang kawalan ng sapat na ulan ng tatlong magkakasunod na buwan, at limang buwan naman para sa drought.

๐Ÿ”ฅ FIRE INCIDENT RESPONSE & ASSISTANCE ๐Ÿค

The Municipal Local Government Unit of Sison (MLGU), through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) and the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), promptly responded to a recent fire incident in the Municipality of Sison.

In coordination with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Office of Civil Defense โ€“ CARAGA (OCD-CARAGA), assistance was provided to the affected family.

The LGU-Sison headed by Mayor Leicester P. Fetalvero remains committed to provide timely response, assistance, and support to individuals and families affected by emergencies and disasters.

The Local Government Unit of Sison, Surigao del Norte actively participated in the 3rd National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) 2026, together with various stakeholders from the Municipal Local Government Unit (MLGU), Barangay Local Government Units (BLGUs), Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), and other partner agencies and organizations.

The activity strengthened the communityโ€™s awareness, preparedness, and readiness to respond to earthquake emergencies through the active participation and coordination of all sectors.

๐‹๐Ž๐Ž๐Š: In response to the ongoing and anticipated multi-sectoral impacts of El Niรฑo and the severe dry spell across the Caraga Region, the Alert Status of the Caraga Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Operations Center (RDRRMOC) is raised from White to ๐๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ž ๐€๐ฅ๐ž๐ซ๐ญ ๐’๐ญ๐š๐ญ๐ฎ๐ฌ, effective September 08, 2026, at 12:00 PM (1200H).

This operational shift is directed to ensure inter-agency coordination, continuous monitoring, heightened preparedness and immediate response capabilities for all related incidents.
