ORMOC CITY, LEYTE — The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)– Leyte Provincial Statistical Office brought National ID services closer to Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) at the Ormoc City Jail Female Dormitory in Ormoc City, Leyte, on 26 October 2026. This is in support of National Correctional Consciousness Week (NACOCOW) 2026, with the theme “Makataong Paglilingkod, Makabuluhang Rehabilitasyon, Pagbabagong May Layunin”.

The PSA Leyte National ID Team, headed by Mr. Marvin U. Cabido, Hired Registration Officer II and National ID Provincial Focal Person, together with the Ormoc City Cluster Team, conducted institutional National ID operations in response to the invitation of the Ormoc City Jail Female Dormitory, under the leadership of SJO2 Grace D. Vargas, Acting City Jail Warden, with coordination from JO1 Fe P. Rosello, Chief Welfare and Development Officer.

TACLOBAN CITY, LEYTE — The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Leyte Provincial Statistical Office conducted the 2026 National ID (NID) and Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) Summit on 21 October 2026 at Cevio Hotel, Justice Romualdez Street, Tacloban City, Leyte, gathering representatives from local government units (LGUs), Local Civil Registrars (LCRs), financial institutions, academic institutions, and government-owned and controlled corporations (GOCCs).

The summit served as a platform for strengthening partnerships, sharing information, and promoting the effective implementation and utilization of the National ID System and civil registration services. It also provided stakeholders with updates on PSA programs, initiatives, and services that support reliable identity verification and accessible civil registration.

The Philippine Statistics Authority - Leyte Provincial Statistical Office conducts a 3-day Provincial Level Training on Advancing CBMS Statistics through Statistical Standards and Classifications: Capacity Building on Statistical Survey Review and Clearance System (SSRCS) and Philippine Standard Industrial Classification (PSIC) among Local Government Units (Batch 2).

The LGU capacity-building training on SSRCS and PSIC Batch 2 kicks off today. This training aims to equip local offices to produce quality data toward better decisions and better communities.

This activity runs from 27 to 29 October 2026 at FAN'S Hotel, Palo, Leyte.

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Leyte Provincial Statistical Office will conduct the 2026 Global Adult To***co Survey (GATS) starting 26 October 2026 to 18 November 2026. The 2026 GATS is a nationwide survey of households jointly executed by the Philippine Statistics Authority and the Department of Health. It is the fourth in a series of global standard for systematically monitoring adult to***co use (smoking and smokeless) conducted every five years since 2009.

PSA Leyte encourages all selected households to fully cooperate and provide accurate, truthful information during the survey. The success of the 2026 GATS relies heavily on respondents' active participation, which is vital to shaping effective policies and programs for the Filipino people.
