🌍 Consultative Session on Balochistan Tourism Policy Held in Quetta

On the invitation of government of Balochistan, Managing Director PTDC, Mr. Aftab ur Rehman Rana, participated as a keynote speaker and moderator in the consultation session organized for the development of the Balochistan Tourism Policy at Quetta Serena Hotel on 9–10 May 2026.

The two-day session brought together government officials, tourism professionals, policy experts, private sector representatives, and stakeholders to deliberate on the future direction of tourism in Balochistan. Discussions focused on sustainable tourism planning, investment promotion, cultural and heritage conservation, destination management, and community-based tourism initiatives.

In his keynote, MD PTDC highlighted the potential of tourism in Balochistan and he emphasized on the importance of integrated policy planning, responsible tourism practices and stakeholder collaboration to unlock Balochistan’s immense tourism potential and create new avenues for economic growth and local employment.

The consultation reflects a collective commitment towards promoting Balochistan as a vibrant and emerging tourism destination of Pakistan. 🇵🇰✨

Pakistan Showcases Tourism & Investment Potential to Visiting Chinese Business Delegation 🇵🇰🤝🇨🇳

Federal Secretary, Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC), Mr. Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani, along with Managing Director Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC), Mr. Aftab ur Rehman Rana, held an interactive briefing session with the visiting Chinese Tourism & Business Delegation on the growing tourism and investment opportunities in Pakistan.

The delegation, comprising representatives of reputable Chinese enterprises and investors from diverse sectors, was briefed on Pakistan’s immense tourism potential including cultural heritage, hospitality, religious tourism, adventure tourism and emerging avenues for foreign investment and business collaboration.

During the session, PTDC highlighted Pakistan’s strategic initiatives for tourism promotion, facilitation of international partnerships and development of sustainable tourism infrastructure aimed at positioning Pakistan as a leading tourism destination in the region.

The Chinese delegation appreciated Pakistan’s diverse tourism offerings and expressed strong interest in exploring future collaborations and investment opportunities across multiple sectors.

The visit is being facilitated by Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) under the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen Pakistan-China cooperation in tourism, investment and business development.

Fresh from her extraordinary overland journey from London to Pakistan, Ms. Guliafshan interacted with young girls and teachers, sharing her inspiring story of courage, resilience, and adventure.
Her journey not only highlighted the spirit of women empowerment but also showcased the power of tourism as a bridge for cultural exchange, exploration, and national pride. Breaking Barriers, Riding Beyond Limits 🏍️✨

Hosting Pakistan’s first female biker, Guliafshan Tariq PTDC celebrated the successful completion of her 36-day overland journey from London to Pakistan on 4 May 2026.

Her inspiring feat reflects resilience, promotes Pakistan’s positive global image, and highlights the rising role of women in adventure tourism. Senior officials, including Secretary IPC and Managing Director PTDC, attended the reception and presented her with a token of appreciation and “Salam Pakistan” souvenirs.

Gulafshan Tariq also announced plans to return with a group of international bikers to further promote Pakistan’s tourism.

Honoring Excellence in Ski Expeditions and adventure tourism in Pakistan 🏔️

PTDC proudly recognizes Mr. Pierre Neyret, a distinguished French mountain guide and specialist in the majestic ranges of Pakistan — the Karakoram, Hindu Kush, and the Himalayas.

For over 3 decades, he has been leading trekking and cross country ski expeditions and guiding European adventure tourists’ groups on unique and challenging routes across Pakistan’s breathtaking snowy landscapes. This time he successfully completed the Snow Lake Ski Expedition with team of European skiers.

In acknowledgment of his 3 decades outstanding contribution to promoting ski and adventure tourism in Pakistan since 1993, Aftab ur Rehman Rana, Managing Director of PTDC presented a special Certificate of Appreciation to Mr. Pierre Neyret in special ceremony arranged in his honor. Legendary Pakistani mountaineer Mr. Ashraf Aman, CEO of ATP, Mr. Nekname Karim and Ski Expedition Guide Sahib-e-Alam were also present on this occasion.

We celebrate his dedication, passion, and remarkable efforts in positioning Pakistan at global level as a premier destination for skiing and mountain adventures.
