PEOPLE OF IQBALIAN FINE ARTS SOCIETY
When I look back at medical school, the Fine Arts Society is something I remember very fondly. I had always enjoyed art growing up, so it was honestly a really nice surprise to see how active the Fine Arts Society was in medical school. In the middle of all the lectures, exams, and ward rotations, it gave us something creative to look forward to and brought a very different kind of energy. Art Gala was always one of the most anticipated events of the year. Everyone waited for it, and the Fine Arts performance on drama night was always a highlight of the whole evening. Even as someone who mostly watched from the audience, it was always something special to see and something the whole student body enjoyed.
IFAS played a big role in making AIMC what it was and it is at present. The passion and encouragement makes a huge difference for students who wants to stay connected to the arts alongside the demands of medical school. Looking back now, those moments and that environment remain some of the most memorable parts of my time in medical school.

PEOPLE OF IQBALIAN FINE ARTS SOCIETY

My mother was a vocational college teacher, she used to teach about different ideas of drawings on women’s dresses. Whenever I’d look at her paints, it will give me an inner peace, purpose and motivation. Being influenced from my mother I started painting in school days, but I always questioned her if my paintings would always be limited to my room and no one would see them. During medical college years when I came to know about IFAS, I submitted few of my paintings for exhibition. It was without any high hopes as I was suffering from inferiority complex, being from an underdeveloped town in Cholistan desert and a lower middle class family. But, I was completely surprised to get a gold medal and positive response from everyone. This is how my journey of confidence started. During my childhood in village, I never thought of my career more than a primary school teacher. But, fortunately in AIMC I met people who changed my life completely. They boosted my confidence, always motivated me to be an active member of IFAS and participate in painting competitions at every level. From these opportunities, I portrayed my feelings, earned many certificates, medals, and mainly self confidence. I will always remember that day when I was given title of Picasso by my classmates and the day when I started working in London as a confident person rather than with inferiority complex. I will always remember those positive words. Thank you IFAS for changing my perceptions about life.
