Hello from Antigua and Barbuda! 🇦🇬

I have arrived here with the Singapore delegation for the 28th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).

Singapore and Antigua and Barbuda may be on opposite sides of the world, but we share much in common as small island states. We understand the importance of staying connected to the world, building strong partnerships, and making our voices heard on issues that matter to us.

I look forward to meeting fellow leaders from across the 56-member Commonwealth to discuss how we can strengthen partnerships and create new opportunities for our people at Antigua and Barbuda CHOGM 2026.

The MERCOSUR-Singapore Free Trade Agreement (MCSFTA) has now entered into force with Argentina, and is now in force across all four MERCOSUR member states.

The Agreement will strengthen trade and investment links, improve market access, and provide greater certainty for businesses seeking opportunities across the region. As global economic conditions become more uncertain, maintaining open and trusted economic partnerships remains important for Singapore's growth and resilience.

I welcome this milestone and look forward to even stronger ties between Singapore, Argentina and the other MERCOSUR member states.

It was a spooky night filled with scares, treats and a whole lot of fun. I was happy to join not one but four Halloween parties in Punggol North, with everyone out in full force with the most creative costumes.

Thanks to the volunteers from our Residents Networks and the Punggol North Youth Network for the hard work in putting this together and making sure everyone got together for an otherworldly experience!

Grow Well Punggol is gradually taking shape. We had a productive meeting today with representatives from the town council, and 8 different government agencies and social service organisations to discuss how we can develop programmes, resources and infrastructure that supports our children’s development.

By pooling everyone’s expertise together and with the support of the community, I am confident we can build an environment in Punggol to help our children build healthy habits and thrive.

Wellness on Wheels (WOW) makes its way to Punggol North. The initiative from North East Community Development Council, in partnership with Hao Ren Hao Shi, brings essential items from health supplies to groceries to seniors across the North East district. Thanks to everyone who came down this morning to help with the distribution, your presence not only brings convenience but warmth to our elderly residents.

Joined the kids of PCF Sparkletots at Punggol Way to celebrate their grandparents. It truly takes a village to raise a child, and it was meaningful to see different generations coming together to take part in the activities.

Congratulations to the little graduates at E-Bridge Pre-School on completing your preschool journey! 🎓

It was heartwarming to celebrate this milestone with the children and watch the performances they had worked so hard to prepare.

Thank you to the principals, teachers and staff for your dedication and care in nurturing our children. May the children stay curious and continue to find joy in learning as they move on to the next chapter of their education.
