Big At Heart volunteers embarked on an interesting service outing during December 2025 where we helped the SASCO Senior Citizens' Home seniors shop and utilise their expiring CDC vouchers. Participated in by about 14 volunteers, it was a sweet little shopping and eating trip which was enjoyed by the elderly and the volunteers both.

If you wish to be a part of such quarterly trips, please stay tuned to out social media.

Every child deserves happiness but not all are fortunate enough to have it. Sometimes, the care and love is missing from their life. and with it are missing the simple joys, like having a burger once in a while.

Our donor Ruchika stepped up to make up for it and sponsored a McDonalds meal for the children at a trauma center last saturday. Their happiness can be felt from their photos and card they sent.

The centre staff said "Hi Ruchika, thank you so much for sponsoring the McDonald's meal for the children. Our sincere thanks for your generosity and kindness! - from the children and staff 🙏🙏"

If you wish to sponsor a meal or treat.. or any other goodie to the less unfortunate ones in children's homes or senior homes, please DM us or email [email protected].

6 neighbours volunteered to conduct an art activity for the elderly on 29 Nov 2025 to bring Christmas colours to the afternoon of the SASCO Senior Citizens' Home Led by Aparna Khanna , the presence of Nishtha, Gunjan, Pooja Samel , Parveen and Supriya Bhartu , along with Nalini Thite from Big At Heart, assisted 11 seniors to paint their own wooden engraved and pre-cut coasters. The activity was loved and they wanted to continue without any break or rest way past their teatime. Each painted more than 2-3 coasters and were completely engrossed in the craft as the photos show. Most told us that they will "stick these coasters to their walls or hang to their beds", as "the coasters were too precious to them to spoil by keeping a teacup on it." :)

If you wish to spend an afternoon or morning doing any simple activity such as playing cards, conducting a cooking session, accompanying the seniors on a shopping trip, or doing any simple activity eith them, please DM or email [email protected] .
