Today, Tuesday, October 20th, 2026, the Point Fortin Borough Corporation convened for the 38th Statutory Meeting of the 12th Council.

We were honoured to welcome students and staff from Point Fortin East Secondary School , who joined us in the Council Chamber to observe local government in action firsthand.

His Worship The Mayor, Alderman Clyde James along with Alderman Kobe Sandy (Chairman of the Education and School Community Alliance Committee), extended a warm welcome to the students, emphasising the importance of youth engagement, leadership, and civic responsibility.

Thank you to Point Fortin East Secondary School for being a part of today’s proceedings! 🎓

A TRIBUTE TO THE MIGHTY SPARROW 🇹🇹

His Worship The Mayor, Alderman Clyde James, members of the 12th Council, Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Victoria Allum, staff of the Point Fortin Borough Corporation, and members of the public gathered to pay tribute to the legendary Slinger Francisco, affectionately known as The Mighty Sparrow.

His invaluable contributions to Trinidad and Tobago’s cultural heritage, along with his lasting influence on generations of musicians, have cemented his place as one of the greatest icons in calypso music. His legacy will continue to live on in our hearts and through the music that has helped define our nation.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.

The Point Fortin Borough Corporation invites members of the public to participate in the Ceremonial Signing of the Condolences Book to offer their respects to The Honourable Slinger Francisco, affectionately known worldwide as The Mighty Sparrow.

Mainfield Road, Point Fortin Paving Works starts today 12th October, 2026.

Motorist are advised to expect delays, exercise caution, observe ALL road signage and directions.
Alternative routes are used and directed by the Municipal Police Officers on location.

The Corporation regrets any inconvenience caused and thanks the public for its cooperation.

In Loving Remembrance 🕊️

It is with profound sadness that the Point Fortin Borough Corporation mourns the passing of Mrs. Johanna McMayo, a valued member of our Corporation who dedicated many years of service in the Security and Public Health Departments.

The Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Victoria C. Allum, the staff of the Point Fortin Borough Corporation, His Worship the Mayor, Alderman Clyde James, and Members of Council extend heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and coworkers during this difficult time.
