🚒🔥 FIRE SAFETY FUN AT FIEB! 🦅💙💛

A BIG Eagle thank you to our friends from District 13 Fire Departments, Seventh Ward and Pecan Island Fire Department for visiting FIEB and sharing important fire safety tips with our students! 🚒👨‍🚒

Our Eagles enjoyed learning valuable lessons about fire prevention, staying safe, and what to do in an emergency. We even had a special visitor join in on the fun! 🦅❤️

We are so grateful for these brave men and women who not only protect our communities but also take the time to educate our future generations.

Thank you for helping our Eagles learn to stay safe and SOAR! 🦅🔥

Our Pre-K students have turned our dramatic play center into a veterinarians office, they have had jumbo pets in the block center to use to play and make cages and homes for. Pet playdough cutters and mats to make different types of pets and pet habitats. They have had real life dog food and treats to investigate as well as puppy pads and food and water bowls and a bed to investigate. They also have been able to paint their pet and them tell about them. They also completed a page about their pets at home and present them to the class. We used the pages to make a Pre-K Pet Book. We will end our pet study by welcoming many types of pets for the annual Pre-K Pet show tomorrow! 💙⭐️🐕🐶

🍀 A Great Start to National 4-H Week at FIEB! 🍀

Our Eagles are celebrating National 4-H Week by showing their school spirit AND giving back! 💚

Throughout the week, students are donating items to support different organizations and those in need, and in return, they get to join in some fun themed dress-out days! 🤠🐄💚😴

We’ve had a great start to the week and love seeing our students embrace helping others through generosity and service to others.

💙💛 We are proud of our FIEB Eagles for making a difference! Every Eagle. Every Piece. Every Day. 🦅🧩

We are incredibly proud to announce our 2026–2027 Forked Island E. Broussard Elementary Students of the Year!

💙💛 5th Grade Student of the Year — Reagan Barras
💙💛 8th Grade Student of the Year — Leah-Kate Harrington

Being selected as Student of the Year is about so much more than academic achievement. It recognizes students who demonstrate leadership, character, dedication, service, and a commitment to being their very best.

Reagan and Leah-Kate have each shown what it means to represent FIEB with pride. Their hard work, accomplishments, and the positive example they set for others truly embody what it means to be a SOARING EAGLE! 🦅

We know they will represent FIEB exceptionally well as they move forward in the Student of the Year selection process.

Ms. Z’s ELA class used their desks to find and see the differences between a well written sentence using narrative techniques (descriptions, imagery, tone) and a sentence without any techniques! Great practice and strategy!

Wednesday’s cross country meet at Acadian Park was one for the books! After pouring rain before the race, our Eagles found themselves running through wet and muddy conditions—but they didn’t let it stop them! They ran hard, had fun, and made some memories along the way. So many of our runners set new personal records!
