Dear South Families,
Our South Junior High School students are taking action to create a healthier and cleaner environment for our school community!
We are excited to launch our No Idling Campaign, led by four amazing student leaders: Rosemarie Osorio, Emma Gonzalez Salazar, Lilah Carillo, and Madeline Zarco Barajas!
🚗 What Does "No Idling" Mean?
Idling happens when your vehicle's engine is running while the car is parked or waiting. This releases harmful air pollutants that can affect our students' health, air quality, and environment.
💚 What Are We Asking Parents and Families to Do?
When visiting South JHS or waiting to pick up your student:
✅ Turn off your engine when parked or waiting for your student.
✅ Keep your engine off until you are ready to leave.
✅ Help reduce air pollution around our campus.
✅ Encourage others to support our student-led campaign.
🌱 Small Actions Make a Big Difference!
Our student leaders are using their voices to raise awareness about air quality and encourage positive changes in our community. By turning off your engine while waiting, you are helping protect the health of our students, families, and staff.
Thank you for supporting our students and helping make South JHS a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable place for everyone!
Together, we can make a difference, one engine at a time! 💚🌎
