Celebrating the life of our dear friend, supporter and mentor, Janice White Sikes Rogers, who passed away Friday, March 27, 2026. Ms. Sikes was a Senior Research Librarian for over 20 years at Auburn Avenue Research Library on African American History & Culture (and an additional 20 with ); She was also a member and great supporter of the Friends of the Auburn Avenue Research Library - ; in addition to being a historian on the deep South; owner of a tour company and communications business with her husband Dan Sikes. Ms. Sikes has done a lot over the years working with youth as a Scout leader with her 2nd husband Rev. Will Rogers, as well as fundraising for youth scholarships. Ms. Sikes was a long time resident and advocate of the West End Auburn Avenue Research Library on African American Culture and History Community, in Atlanta.

There's so much more to say about Ms. Sikes...

I was asked by the - Auburn Avenue research library to pull together a group of wearing African clothes to Service Usher’s at Ms. Francine Henderson’s memorial event this weekend on Sat. Nov 8th. This invitation for current and former members of to The Friends group.

We are asking the Friends wear african clothes and to pass out the programs, Sat. Nov. 8, 2025, 1:30pm-5pm. Auburn Avenue Research Library 101 Auburn Ave NE downtown Atlanta GA.
